Steven Bassez grew up in the North of France, the historical location of French textile industry. The natural countryside surroundings of the region are also a permanent source of that show in his work. He studies design and follows training in different techniques of creation such as pattern maker, embroidery, feather embellishment that grant him a French “savoir-faire” with extreme attention to details and finishing.
His career starts in 2011, while he performs several additional courses at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris. His skills and competencies open the doors for collaborations with the most prestigious Parisian Houses such as Chanel, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton ou Lanvin.
From the knowledge acquired through his experience in these great Houses, and his everlasting passion for design, Bassez decides to create his own brand. His first idea, as a young designer, is to get back to traditional creation and craftsmanship, as to bring a fresh vision and modernity through innovating techniques.
Steven Bassez is passionate about the technical processes of creation from the sketch to the final piece. Every step of the creation must be perfectly executed, each decision meticulously carried out, with particular attention honed down to the finest details, in order to match all criterias of Haute Couture excellence.
He collaborates with the best French artisans, thanks to his flawless experience and his permanent research of new designs and also works with a pool of young innovative craftsmen/women of his generation. His first Couture collection SS21 will be launched in January under his name: Steven Bassez.
