Borsalino has appointed Jacopo Politi Head of Style as an integral part of its current relaunch plan to affront the challenges of a global market. In effect from April 4th, 2022, Jacopo Politi is tasked to interpret the guidelines of the brand’s Steering Committee and will split his role between the Maison’s Milan headquarters and the Manufacture in Alessandria.

Jacopo Politi, Head of Style Borsalino

Born in Milan 1978, Politi, a Marangoni Institute graduate and winner of the International Meryl Award Mittlemoda, boasts a strong, long-standing hat-designing career as Director of the Style Office for Maison Michel as well as working for some of the most prestigious international fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi, YSL, Lanvin, Balmain and Balenciaga, and, notably, as a Borsalino style-office alumni from 2009 to 2012.  In his new role for Borsalino, he is tasked to design the collections of hats and caps in felt, straw and fabric, as well as dictating the guidelines for the Soft-Accessories and Small Leather Goods.

Mauro Baglietto, Managing Director for Borsalino, comments: “We are thrilled to welcome Jacopo Politi because of his knowledge of our world as well as an added competence and wealth of experience. A talented visionary, we entrust him with the Maison’s evolution while simultaneously enhancing our heritage in a contemporary way.”

Giacomo Santucci, Brand Curator and member of the Borsalino Steering Committee, adds: “Inspired by the life of founder Giuseppe Borsalino, over the last three years I have redefined the brand’s positioning by establishing a stronger style dialogue with Millennials and Generation Zs while remaining true to our identity. This is the perfect starting point now for Jacob to continue this plan and further develop the brand’s potential.”

Jacopo Politi, Borsalino’s Head of Style, declares: “It is an honor to be part of the Borsalino family once again and I look forward to evolving the company’s stylistic 160 year-plus heritage. While it is an ambitious and stimulating challenge, the artisanal culture of Borsalino is a great source of inspiration and I can’t wait to share and develop my vision of this wonderful Made in Italy brand with an even wider community.”

As Borsalino’s Head of Style, Jacopo Politi’s first collections are scheduled to launch for the next Fall-Winter 2023-24 season and will debut January 2023 in Florence during the upcoming Pitti Immagine Uomo.
