MARKGONG Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 at Shanghai Fashion Week entitled “MARRY? ME?”

Charlotte York was the poster girl for perfection—pearls, marriage, the whole fairytale. But, As I’ve learned, the fairytale often comes with fine print. Beneath the bows and floral dresses, Charlotte wasn’t just chasing love—she was wrestling with it. Can we really have it all, or is ‘having it all’ just another shiny accessory society wants us to wear?

MARKGONG Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 collection pulls back the curtain on those pretty little lies we tell ourselves. Sure, Charlotte’s got the look down, but underneath, she’s questioning the whole package. It’s a wardrobe for the woman who’s done playing by the rules and is ready to tear up the script. Every floral print hides a little rebellion, every polished surface a crack in the facade.

It’s not just Charlotte’s story—it’s all of ours. We’ve all been sold the dream of a perfect life, only to wonder if we even believe in it. This season is about throwing of the expectations and asking: do we really want the perfect life, or do we want something messier but real?

Because let’s face it, sometimes the path less perfect is way more fun.
