Sanjukta Dutta for Global Fashion Collective during New York Fashion Week FW26 / Fall Winter 2026

Sanjukta Dutta presented “Kuwoli” (Mist) at GFC’s New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 showcase, showcasing a collection inspired by the dreamy winter dawns of northeastern India and expressed through a striking black-and-white palette that embodied “soft strength.” Handcrafted from Assamese pat silk, the collection reimagined the traditional “mekhera chador” with voluminous skirts and structured dresses, seamlessly blending traditional handweaving techniques with contemporary, architectural silhouettes while championing sustainable, slow fashion. Renowned for elevating Assam’s textile heritage to international platforms such as Paris, Milan, and Cannes, Dutta continues to position her brand as a global ambassador for Indian handweaving, empowering rural women artisans and redefining cultural craftsmanship in contemporary luxury.
