The presentation of the Spring / Summer 2022 collection took place this Monday, October 4 at Carrousel du Louvre, place of the inverted pyramid. An intimate presentation, Mossi’s first sartorial tribute to his origins Malian.

The looks of the collection were created in collaboration with the Malian painter Ibrahim Ballo. They unveil a new range of colors inspired by this country. Combining acrylic paint and wool embroidery, Ballo has developed a technique handmade ornaments, inspired by ancient textile manufacturing practices, which he himself applied to Mossi pieces.

On the occasion of this presentation which celebrates meetings between various parts of the Malian culture, Ibrahim Ballo will be present to explain the creative process that guided the collaboration as well as the common history of the different actors of the collection.

In a desire to promote the Parisian presence of a united Pan-Africanism and creative, the brand has teamed up with musician Nawa Sylla to create a soundtrack original that will accompany the entire presentation. Originally from Ivory Coast, Nawa Sylla crossed paths with Mossi in their Hautes Noues neighborhood as a teenager. Wishing to federate a community of young creatives whose talents are geographically camouflaged, Mossi invited his friend Nawa Sylla to make a sequel sound inspired by West Africa.

A stone’s throw from the brand’s first permanent sales area, the Mossi presentation takes place in the heart of the new dynamic of the Carrousel du Louvre. Born on the outskirts of Paris, the brand is now located in the center of the capital, associating its design of urban fashion that is off-center to the aspirations of Greater Paris. The objective of creator is to make these new energies transmitted thanks to a geography innovative which involves highlighting talents whose positioning intangible assets and staff nourish the brand’s multidisciplinary collaborations.

By inserting African cultures at the Carrousel du Louvre, Mossi energizes a reality urban and social that clothing, through its constant bodily accompaniment, translates into an art of evolution.
