Gabriel Figueiredo, is a young French designer. In 2018, he returned to Paris to assist many stylists, including Georgia Pendlebury. Since 2019, he has worked at Maison Margiela, and launched his own brand “DePino” in 2020.
This brand explores the idea of femininity and seduction in a free and surreal way. Encounter between a couture aesthetic and a child’s drawing. The heart of the project is a naive craft made o frecycled materials. Thetailor and hooker scarve pieces of exaggerated proportions. The embroidery conjures up patterns quickly drawn on a sketch with which we play to reinvent their gender and their identity, a moment to feel free and joyful.
“After looking through the online collections of several costume museums, I have assembled this which would constitute my ideal archive collection Madeleine Vionnet, from John Galliano. Dresses from the Belle Epoque and Pieces from the Middle Ages want to talk about these clothes, the memories they evoke and the passage of time.
For its new winter 2022 collection, entitled “Forest”, it continues the themes covered in the previous collection. He plays with proportions, bikini too small, dress too big, mark a silhouette playful and childish.Wearing, the passage of time makes jersey pieces sensual and intimate. Light and liquid crochet barely draws the idea of a dress or a skirt and the flowers, naive and poetic rest on an uninhibited body. These seasons are inspired by the idea of a party, pearl necklaces that smash and metallic confetti happily thrown on a big evening dress.
