ABODI FALL WINTER 2022 – 2023 COLLECTION PRESENT BELA’S
The latest AW22/23 collection is dedicated to Abodi Nagy Béla, the designer’s artist grandfather. Also, it is an analysis of the daydreaming phenomena which is part of the designer’s persona, a symptom which accompanies her since her childhood: structured, unintentionally generated fantasy narratives mixed with déjá-vu and dream shreds and flashes.
The designer’s grandfather, a Transylvanian resistant, speak-up free minded artist and art professor during communism was subject of permanent observation and abuse by the communist secret services in Rumania and his home and atelier was under interception. His experiences and memories became part of the designer’s childhood narratives and built in her night and daydreams in form of secret agent protagonists, being chased and finding escape, jumping from one dimension to another and a postmodern alienation from systems and conformity.
Nowadays the track recording is continued through Internet and our virtual persona is chased by almost anybody who follows our online activity. Daydreaming sessions and the unknown and free fields of mind are the only territories of freedom. After being judged for years for cognitive dissonances, calling these precious free fields maladaptive, dissonance and abnormal, nothing is more empowering and prouder, to embrace the superpower to create dimension jumping gates to parallel universes and the ability to daydream.
ABODI created a time traveller, dimension jumper collection for the season driven by the most important values and heritage of the brand.
The geometric padded eco leather pieces recall the secret agent style, however the collection transforms these villains to modern power women who are more serving the freedom, than any system.
The rustic crochet and knit pieces and pompons are inspired by the Transylvanian bucolic mood, a signature of the brand.
The silhouettes are featuring power shoulder overcoats, voluminous shouldered dresses, oversize jackets, dresses with signature ’Cloud’ details. A new line of handbags with ABODI.
Twin Unisus myth’s symbol and handmade ceramic mythologic symbol handles and coordinated feminine heels complete the looks.
Wearable expression of female power is an essence of the collection, dressing up for self-gratification and selfempowerment, kind of time travelling in full armor of self confidence and freedom.
