The theme of the DRESSEDUNDRESSED Spring Summer 2023 Collection is “LOVERS”, a posthumous work by Teiji Furuhashi (1960-1995), Dumb Type.

In the dark space, turn away, run past, stare at each other, and continue to change slowly and constantly in a looped walking sequence. The collection is ascetic in its refined cuts, sharp finishes, and tailoring in luxurious materials (wool, cashmere, silk).

In contrast to the minimalist redefinition of eveningwear, the language group overlaps body consciously. The exhibition uses two projectors to loop identical images of different lengths, which remain out of sync with each other for very long periods of time. One image is 20 minutes 00 seconds (1200 seconds) and the other is 19 minutes 58 seconds (1198 seconds); it takes D=A/C 600 times and E=BxD 5 days and 13 hours (478000 seconds) for these images to synchronize again.

Surrender yourself to images and music that have no beginning and no end.

The music for this work was composed by Toru Yamanaka, a founding member of Dumb Type who was in charge of music and sound.
