BED J.W. FORD Spring Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion Week Men’s

BED J.W. FORD Spring Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, La Gaîté Lyrique, 10h00-12h30 , Sunday 25th June 2023.

As if awaken from a midnight dream, struck by the morning sun, the day approaching.  Concurrently terrified by the speed of light while comforted for the unceasing movement.  Spotting the withering cherry blossoms, being relieved of the next cherry blossoms to come is the realization of a repetition initiates a “new”.  Yet morning is not repetitive, same mornings never replay.

An exquisite morning, like these clothes, feeling the repetition along with something we have never seen before, thus becoming the beginning of the next after a long night.

Shinpei Yamagishi said.  “The purest soul of my disposition of my lucky life- too happy to even think for a second to waste my life away. And to add on, as a designer, being involved with Paris, excelling in my creation of clothes and becoming more involved with clothes, momentarily in my pure and honest state of mind that identifies my collection”.

February 2023 Before the opening of the BED J.W. FORD autumn winter 2023 collection runway show held at a restaurant in a Renaissance-style mansion built in the early Showa period in Tokyo, guests gathered  at the terracotta corridor, with a dining room surrounded by antique furniture, an Art Deco designed salon. The show began with the encounters and the reunion of the guests with coffee and wine in their hands filled with joy, the same ambience which we aspire to recreate right in Paris.

The first look with the swaying long coats appearing strikingly synchronized to convey that the reason has just changed,  a “refrain” in the broadest sense the purposeful Inclusivity of the last season’s methodology, one of the conception theme of BED J.W. FORD Spring Summer 2024.

The core of BED J.W. FORD lies with the subjectivity and discovery of the alternative reality, hoping to convey similarly to the fundamental mindset like that of “morning luckily comes around”.  Shinpei’s orientation toward “alternative elegance of the present is evoked by the appearance of the daze of reality and dream, like. a boy with sluggish eyes right out of bed, contrasting with defined shapes created by the materials, silhouettes, accessories and to the details.

The rebellion against the establishment of the classics or the stereotypical portrayal are reflected in fabrics with dull but shimmering unimpressive threads. With tank tops and trunks docked together, lined up with the exemplary high-end silk coats and suits, classics in repetition. The innocent childishness in the motifs celebrates a unique optimism coinciding to the movement of the hand in the designing process, creating conscientious clothes, eschewing any weight of quantity and quality.

In other words, the designer playfully discovers the contemporary appeal hidden in the “truth” in the men’s wardrobes and classicism and redefines to a casual, carefree disposition that he has cultivated as his originality cultivated through himself.  BED J.W. FORD’s allure resides in an “unexpected captivating presence that stands above reality, the most pristine component interacting with the instinct to live by the moment.”
