FRANCESCA LIBERATORE SS24, The designer moves up the Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show on the opening day of Milan Fashion Week, experimenting for the first time with an entirely leather collection as a guest at Rho Fiera Milano’s spaces to inaugurate the international Lineapelle Fair.
To everyone’s surprise, she has a subsequent showing of the collection in the spectacular and unique setting of Palazzo Diamanti Museum in Ferrara, inviting her audience to follow her on October 7th and continuing on to Macao, China and New York City. “Humans may die, but ideas endure forever.”
With a strong emphasis on cyclicity, Francesca Liberatore SS24 collection is born, inspired by the organic nature of leather, its traceability, and reuse. In partnership with Lineapelle, this research takes on various aspects, from natural skins to cracks finishing, even redeeming the vast amount of waste material from the food industry, otherwise difficult to dispose of.
From nude body suits that combine different shadows of leather to metallic tops and pleated, reworked, washed, and altered skirts using various techniques to make their surfaces unique.
Modules that disassemble the body like a doll and reassemble it into accessory parts like jewel collars and cuffs or top bands in knitwear. A unique and visionary interpretation of possibilities from clothing to the body.
Francesca Liberatore SS24 collection’s intention is to unite uniqueness and exclusivity, numbering each individual piece from 1 to 9, as is done in the world of art, defining each piece as unique.
Producing less to produce better, a mantra that Francesca Liberatore strongly reaffirms, starting from the body and its surface, leather, the primordial garment that identifies us.
The leather project presents itself with a “Liberatore to the seventh power,” through which the designer/teacher has integrated 7 talented Fashion Design students from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts – SCFEFGZ – into the style office. In addition to participating in the preliminary steps of creation, they have brought together their strengths, knowledge, and desires within the group, sharing the values of sustainability, cyclicity, traceability, cherished by those who approach this material.
From now on, the Italian designer who works and presents her collections internationally, in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara and Ferrara Arte, will be engaged in creating a new presentation of the brand within the exhibition spaces of the Museum. This event will conclude in the evening at the Ex Chiesa San Michele, chosen as the new headquarters of the brand, and it will be reopened to the public thanks to the courageous recovery and redevelopment project conceived by the Liberatore Family, which has always been synergistic in the fields of Culture, Art, and Fashion.
