MRZ SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 during Milan Fashion Week entitled “ARTISTRY”
For the SS24 collection, MRZ takes us into a world where art meets fashion in a combination of shapes, colours and geometries that create a dialogue with each other.
The expressive language that MRZ proposes is inspired by the work of Ettore Sottsass, Italian artist and designer. Following his example, the brand evokes craftsmanship, the strength of material and the combination of geometric shapes and vibrant colours.
The focus of the brand is on the representation of utilitarian and decorative ceramics enriched with novel graphisms and a wide range of striking hues and shades.
The collection MRZ SS24 aims to create a visual and immersive experience, it showcases its definition of style by exploring design universes from different angles to emphasize the link between fashion, art, music and dance with the shared values of versatility, functionality and creativity.
The seemingly random overlapping of garments frees women from the usual social rules; shapes envelop the body and enhance its sinuosity.
Pleats and inlays are the protagonists of an unstoppable and conceptual dance. Dresses glide over bodies, hovering lightly and emphasizing a contemporary elegance.
The iconic knit suit, declined in the different colors of the collections, represents the brand’s masculine/feminine binomial and embodies the style of the MRZ woman.
The rigor of tailored suits is contrasted with knitwear, with a deliberately textured look: unusual workings interrupt the continuity of the surface and create three-dimensionality with patterned, perforated and textured stitches.
Geometric designs variously reinterpreted, explore the pattern-striped with elaborate sequences and asymmetries.
The shades of Ettore Sottsass’s artwork can also be found in the nuances, starting with primary colors such as red, yellow and blue to which hints of blush, brown and green are bound, embellishing the ensemble.
Black and white, mostly used monochromatically, join forces to give a graphic impact to the collection.
MRZ is 100% Made In Italy, produced by Maglificio Tomas srl.
