Paco Bucket – Rabanne Introduce THE PACO LEATHER LINE
Following its debut on the Fall-Winter ’23 runway, the Paco Bucket and Paco Clutch arrive as two standout styles that revisit the Maison’s iconic assemblage with a noticeable twist.
For the first time, the leather discs are arranged in a dynamic spiralling pattern.
This novel effect creates a rhythmic surface and underscores the contemporary craftsmanship at the heart of Rabanne.
The Paco Bucket bag involves savoir-faire at every stage of production. Box calf leather is tanned in Italy with Palmellato finishing, a technique of rolling the skins back and forth that results in an artisanal texture. Once the leather has been cut into smooth discs, the pieces are polished, painted along the edges, and manually assembled. The base is specially bonded for a debossed effect. Finally, each bag is completed with its handle and straps. This process takes several days. For the large size, assembling the roughly 800 pieces can take upwards of 16 hours.
Spacious by design, the Paco Bucket bag is proposed in three volumes. The small and medium formats have a top handle in addition to a cross-body strap that can be removed. The large size is equipped with an adjustable shoulder strap and features a small hook and ring closure system at the top.
Defined by a supple lengthwise shape and top flap in suede or box calf leather, the Paco Clutch handbag boasts the same handmade diagonal pattern of discs, which are cut, polished and painted one by one. The chain echoes the XL Link jewellery and when worn on the shoulder or carried in hand, it contributes to the bag’s supple appearance.
The flap design ensures that belongings are secure. For Fall ’23, the Paco Bucket exists in three exterior colours, each with a complementary interior that riffs on the Maison’s metallic heritage: burgundy/silver, black/gold and cognac/silver. The Paco Clutch colour range spans black, cognac, ruby red, lilac and beige. Both the Paco Bucket bag and Paco Clutch handbag are made in Europe. They mark a significant moment in the creative journey of Rabanne.
