Enfants Riches Déprimés SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion
Enfants Riches Déprimés presented the Spring Summer 2024 collection on Friday September 29 in Paris, France.
Enfants Riches Déprimés SS24 show opens with the raw noise of a babydoll shaped theremin in l’Oratoire du Louvre, a sacred space steeped in history. This moment encapsulates the whole essence of the collection, the duality between a delicate, vulnerable softness and the harsh reality which can at times turn violent.
The Enfants Riches Deprimes SS24 collection tells the story of an American lost in a European town – a hopeless romantic, we see them living through multiple time and space references.
The collection is sharply tailored, from an antique silk tapestry coat and lambskin leather, which is either soft or constructed off of a graceful and contrasting silk charmeuse and virgin wool. The brand’s dedication to luxury craft and refined workmanship is balanced with references to western imagery, punk aesthetics, and the new romantics woven throughout Henri Levy’s creative process.
A palette of black and white is offset against muted red and pink tones, and mixed in with extravagant details, such as high heeled boots, garter belts, and leather outerwear. The handiwork is meticulous and frequent – sewing repairs, studding belts, and carefully distressing garments throughout the collection.
The color composition embodies a search for purity rather than destruction, with a light palette enhanced by all-black monochrome outfits for Enfants Riches Deprimes SS24. Angelic and perverse personalities follow and complement each other, both looking for an ecstatic state.
