CELINE KWAN in love with pet dogs

CELINE KWAN SS24 collection, titled ‘Bitch Stole My Look’ celebrates the special bond between women and their pet dogs. Inspired by personal memories and the joy dogs bring, the collection aims to explore practical womenswear that is both functional and fun. Designed with dog walkers in mind, the collection envisions clothing with features like pockets for doggie bags and skirts that assist in holding puppies.

Dogs will be the main focus, with the campaign featuring them instead of human models. Additionally, CELINE KWAN will collaborate with animal charity ‘Battersea Dogs and Cats’ to use the collection as a platform for helping animals in need. Making a positive impact through fashion is a core value for CELINE KWAN, and the designer is excited about the opportunity to make a difference with these designs. Ultimately, the CELINE KWAN SS24 collection aims to bring smiles to people’s faces.

YEUNG CHIN advocation of Chinese herbal medicine

YEUNG CHIN SS24 collection emphasizes dark environmental protection and draws inspiration from traditional Chinese medicine. It incorporates colours from various Chinese herbal medicines and uses plant printing and dyeing techniques. The predominantly black, white, and grey YEUNG CHIN collection introduces colours such as red, yellow, purple, and black through the use of Galla, Ink Tree, Lac Insect, Myrobalan, Phellodendron, and Huai Mi.

The goal is to not only to introduce the colours of Chinese herbal medicine to the public but also to convey the efficacy and cultural significance of these herbs. The YEUNG CHIN SS24 collection at HKFG SS24 aims to stimulate the audience’s thinking and demonstrate the practicality of design in everyday life. It encourages multidimensional thinking about the creation and coexistence of all things. Avant-garde is a central value, with a focus on design details, fabric layering, combining different textures, and challenging established aesthetics and conventions.

REVERIE BY CAROLINE HÚ’s poetic roundup

REVERIE BY CAROLINE HÚ’s SS24 at HKFG SS24 series aims to portray the relationship between individuals and space, capturing new perspectives and visual aesthetics arising from distance. The brand beautifully weaves the year’s experiences into a romantic poem, as romance, to designers, is the whispering sound echoing through valleys, the pulsation of life, and the gentle murmuring of water flowing over stones—a multi-layered beauty.

The new SS24 collection endeavours to create moments of romance through the use of masks and unfinished techniques, as the most exquisite state for creators is found not in the anticipated outcome but rather in the wild and vibrant process, tinged with a sense of pity and anticipation. The series extensively incorporates translucent fabrics overlapped with vibrant coloured prints, employing a fresh visual language of colours to immerse everyone in the designer’s crafted space.

DEMO showcasing the diversity of Hong Kong fashion design

Drawing inspiration from the Cannes Award-winning film “Death in Venice,” DEMO SS24 collection encapsulates the essence of beauty, desire, and mortality. The film tells the story of Gustav von Aschenbach, a renowned composer embarking on a journey to Venice in search of inspiration. There, he becomes captivated by the enchanting presence of a young boy named Tadzio. As Gustav’s infatuation intensifies, it intertwines with his contemplation of mortality, resulting in a poignant exploration of the delicate balance between beauty and decay. Through exquisite craftsmanship and intricate details, DEMO SS24 collection captures the allure and elegance of the film, evoking a sense of timeless beauty and the fleeting nature of existence.

LE MANDORLE

Jewellery presents ‘UNSPOKEN CONVERSATION’, a collection inspired by the power of language and the beauty of organic forms. The collection revolves around the humble but significant punctuation marks—the quotation marks. These delicate curves, transformed into tangible pieces, encircle the wearer with literary inspiration. The Bauhaus influence adds geometric crispness, creating hybrid artworks for mind, body, and spirit. Each piece is a wearable sculpture, meticulously crafted to celebrate unexpected beauty. ‘UNSPOKEN CONVERSATION’ speaks to the strength of bold design and the extraordinary potential of simple symbols. It goes beyond jewellery, extending into clothing accessories, embodying a celebration of the unexpected and serving as a personal unspoken conversation.

PABEPABE

After conducting numerous experiments during the previous season, PABEPABE has discovered additional techniques for crafting instruments and incorporating them into bag designs. Therefore, the brand has decided to expand its collection of instrument bags in order to create more unique musical pieces. This season’s ‘Melody Practice’, PABEPABE is still on music, particularly the production of melodies. A melody will not be simply a single note; it is a cohesive entity that is recognized and remembered by people. In fact, certain classic melodies can transcend language and cultural barriers, becoming shared memories for people around the world. It hopes to create more instrument bags combined with simple playing techniques, to evoke the shared emotions in this increasingly segregated world.

YAT PIT

YAT PIT SS24 collection draws inspiration from the impermanent nature of tea dying and the concept of “nothing lasts forever.” The collection explores the art of letting go and delves into emotions and feelings in a spiritual sense. By shifting perspectives and embracing the middle way, the collection aims to free us from suffering and promote mental well-being. The hand-drawn images in the collection are inspired by spiritual figures and symbols such as the Flower of Life, Yin Yang, Blue Lotus, Medicine Buddha, Green Tara, and heart sutra. YAT PIT SS24 celebrates the wisdom gained from understanding impermanence and showcases prints that reflect this concept. The collection maintains YAT PIT’s aesthetics while building upon their previous exploration of tea brewing.
