Avellano SS24 at Paris Fashion Week

Avellano SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion Week

The collection, Avellano SS24 is the first to be shown since the designer won the Pierre Bergé Prize at the 2023 ANDAM Fashion Awards.

AVELLANO will be presenting its creations among the 120 columns of the hypostyle hall at the Arab World Institute (Institut du Monde Arabe). The models, as if straight out of a 2024 version of The Fifth Element, are immersed in a dark, damp underground world, where space repeats endlessly, with Padmé as its muse.

The collection was created concurrently with AVELLANO’s collaboration on the costumes for Marion Motin’s ballet The Last Call, which opened on Thursday, 21 September at the Opéra Garnier. AVELLANO pays homage to this event by making use of gold and aged platinum reminiscent of the mouldings of the historic building.

In Avellano SS24 collection, eveningwear and visible skin prevail. Transparent latex, metallic shades and trains that give a finishing touch to the silhouettes play off one another. A new textured moiré-effect latex gives sparkle and depth to the pieces, an Astrakhan motif is revealed, and a snake trompe l’oeil effect slides over the bodies of the models.

It is sensual, powerful and dramatic – the direction AVELLANO is taking this season.

AVELLANO is partnering with UGG, a California footwear brand, to offer custom pieces covered in latex and crystals.

Reprising a collaboration that has been in place since 2020, the music is an original composition by Pangol, with whom AVELLANO launched its own label, VERDO, in February 2023.
