Resplendent Blooms
Flowers have always held a special place in my heart, embodying the beauty of life through their hopeful seeds, promising growth, and resplendent blooms. There’s an undeniable power in their vibrant colors and inspiring forms, and it’s fascinating to reflect on how flowers are so deeply connected to the seasons, marking the passage of time through the rebirth of spring. I’ve always been captivated by that fleeting moment when flowers blossom, and more than ever I am driven to capture that essence through my designs.
One artist who left an indelible mark on my appreciation of flowers was the French artist Clarie Basler. Her work, with its dreamy depictions of flowers and trees from her own gardens, resonates deeply with me. Her lavishly painted works, showcasing unruly roses, peonies, and other flora, transport us to a world of enchantment where nature and art merge seamlessly.
My childhood memories are intertwined with images of dried flowers carefully placed within the pages of books, each representing a unique moment or emotion. Those dried flowers, with their exquisite colors, still hold a profound significance for me. As memories, they represent more than mere nostalgia—they inform, inhabit, and inspire my celebration of prints and colors. They connect me, through their spirit and captivating beauty, to the enduring aesthetics of Emanuel Ungaro.
