ADEAM Pre-Fall 2024 Collection at New York Fashion

Hanako Maeda take inspiration from my home cities of Tokyo and New York, but for ADEAM Pre-Fall 2024, she turned my gaze toward the picturesque landscapes of southern Italy. “ I had the pleasure of visiting Italy over the summer, and after immersing myself in the rich culture and breathtaking scenery, it was only natural that I found myself sketching a collection inspired by the magic of the Riviera”. Hanako Maeda tried to capture the essence of Italian high summers with natural fabrics and a vibrant color palette that evokes the zest and warmth that fills the air during those long, sun-kissed days. Lemony citron and blood orange shades conjure images of Italy’s bountiful nature, while deep greens transport us to its lush, verdant landscapes. Cielo blue is reminiscent of the clear sky that stretches over the Mediterranean.

ADEAM Pre-Fall 2024 collection features several looks made with a pure linen that allows for maximum breathability even in the sweltering heat. And, of course, not forgetting ADEAM’s signature cotton twill, which adds structure to the pieces, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. For an ethereal touch, sheer, textured organza and chiffon lend a lightness that mirrors the gentle breeze on a hot summer’sday. And for those cooler evenings, cotton knits provide both coziness and an airy dimension to the collection.

These lightweight fabrics are also rendered into ADEAM staples. The first look, featuring the striped Valeria shirt and Bruna skirt, combines the brand’s signature shirting and love for contrasting elements. Here, the juxtaposition is done subtly—stripes in three different widths adorn the body, pockets, and the skirt’s godets. The same mixing and matching is done in the Amalfi Dress, adding visual intrigue to the classic wrap shirt dress.

The linen is styled in matching sets like the one-shouldered Paola top and matching Lucia shorts or the Lucia vest with the sleek Estella pant. Firmer than the average linen, the gently structured pieces worn in coordinated sets elevate the look without sacrificing ease. Hanako Maeda always strive to create a collection that offers endless possibilities for mixing and matching. She looked for fabrics with contrasting textures and varied opacity that create dimension when layered. The fine gauge knit Vacanza bolero can be thrown over our cotton Mare t-shirt as easily as our sheer organza Sera dress. Necklines in various shapes and cutouts—one-shoulder, off-shoulder, square, scoop, plunging—and convertible pieces, like the Lucia dress that can also be worn as a vest—are intended to expand the wearer’s choices in styling.
