Ludovic de Saint Sernin on the NYFW AW24

Ludovic de Saint Sernin on the NYFW / New York Fashion Week AW24. For the AW24 show season, Parisian fashion house Ludovic de Saint Sernin will take to New York City to present LdSS collection, showing on the CFDA’s official New York Fashion Week / NYFW schedule for AW24 on February 11th 2024. Its first-ever runway presentation outside of Paris, the show marks a pivotal moment in Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s trajectory, paying testament to the significant role that the American fashion capital has played in the development of the brand’s distinct vocabulary.

Since the founding of the brand, Ludovic has deeply resonated with both the city and its symbolic legacy. Its history as a key incubator of the contemporary queer culture that the brand is a proud advocate of, the genesis point of the queer liberation movement, and as the home environment for some of the most emblematic figures in global pop culture and art, has made New York City an instinctual, abiding source of inspiration for the designer. Across his body of work, loving references to creatives that have, in their unique ways, defined New York’s cultural status and output have been at the heart of his creative proposal.

Further to this, over its six years in business, the North American market has established itself as the brand’s largest in terms of sales revenue – not to mention one of its most loyal. While this presentation on the NYFW schedule will be a one-off, with the brand returning to the Paris Fashion Week Men’s schedule in June 2024, Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s AW24 show and collection will deepen the brand’s relationship with the US market — which currently represents 32% of its total sales revenue — and pay homage to a city that has played a formative role in the brand’s current identity, not to mention the thriving community of LdSS enthusiasts that call it home.

Ludovic de Saint Sernin, founder and creative director of Ludovic de Saint Sernin, says:

“Words can’t quite express how excited I am to be bringing LdSS to New York City. It’s a place that’s always held a special place in my heart. It’s always been a hub of inspiration, due to its legacy as a key location in the history of contemporary queer culture and some of today’s defining artistic movements, but also due to the incredible community that has built around the brand in the city. I’ve been travelling to New York City a fair amount over the past year and the support that we have there is immediately evident from the amount of people you see wearing the brand in the streets. It’s so touching to see that there’s such an affinity with what we do. With this show, I hope to be able to show just how much we appreciate and admire New York and the people that make it what it is. I’m incredibly grateful to WME Fashion and the CFDA for the opportunity, and am genuinely honoured to be able to share this with a sector of the LdSS community that I have so much to thank for.”

Kim Fasting Berg, EVP of Marketing at WME Fashion, owner and operator of NYFW says:

“Continuing our support of designers and creatives, we’re thrilled to welcome Ludovic de Saint Sernin to New York City. New York Fashion Week’s global platform provides a stage for designers to connect with new and existing customers, and we’re eager to see Ludovic’s creative vision come to life on February 11 at Starrett-Lehigh, the official runway hub.”

Steven Kolb, CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), says:

“New York Fashion Week is a powerful stage with international appeal and a destination for global brands to connect with the American market. We are delighted to welcome Ludovic de Saint Sernin to the official NYFW schedule for his next runway show, adding to the collective and creative strength of the week.”
