MTLstudio Fall/Winter 2024 / FW24 At Milan Men Fashion Week entitled “MARKETPLACE”
In the heart of the city market, a timeless and out-of-time place, tradition and avant-garde come together to create something special.
In the slow walk, among fruits and vegetables, greetings and local news, the tailored-cut suits are reversed, revealing linings and fabrics with contrasting shades.
Thus, the raw-cut denim show buttons and pockets on the reverse side, in a bizarre deconstruction.
The rough cut with a vaguely worn-out look is reproduced in knitwear, evocative and nostalgic, reinterpreting classic patterns through disruptive elements. Fitted lines are combined with large volumes, and the structure of the garments is well-defined.
Extensive embroidery frills adorn the back of padded sweatshirts, and sparkling rhinestones make frivolous series of shirts, also available in crinkled and “tie-dye” versions.
Among the stalls and colors of the market, classicism winks at a contemporary carelessness, dreamy and naïve.

Founder MTLstudio is Matteo Lamandini, born in Modena in 1989 Matteo Lamandini attended first the Accademia Europea in Bologna and then Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. He has worked as Menswear Assistant at MSGM and Marni and then won “Designer for Tomorrow” in 2014 and finalist of “Who Is On Next” Uomo 2017. From there he decided to start his eponymous collection from the SS16 and also designed a capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger that was presented during Berlin Fashion Week.
Matteo Lamandini collections mixing classic menswear and street style icons are becoming uniforms for the new generation of Italian trappers and musicians: MTLstudio jackets shirt and overalls have been chosen from artists like Ghali, J-Ax and Salmo, just to name a few.
