Julie de Libran Couture SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion Week Couture

Julie de Libran SS24 Couture collection sets out my vision and lays the groundwork for what’s to come. At the heart of every story I tell is the material. Precious jacquard, brocade, ultra-sharp denim, chiselled feathers… all guide me towards the silhouettes. Thirty or so this season, with a non-linear mix of references to past eras that populate my universe.

Details of Julie de Libran SS24 Couture, a journey through time, with a first stop in the 60’s, where the trapeze dress and the mini-skirt suit have not aged a day, nor a centimeter. The 90’s-style bias, famous from the 1930’s, is used on flowing velvet dresses, like the slip dress, which have always looked sexy worn out in the open. These negligees are worn for entertaining, while the suit presents itself like an armor of elegance to conquer today’s world.

The jacquard I love takes on an ‘animal’ spirit, mimicking leopard spots and zebra stripes in gold thread. Always elegant but never overdressed, the girls parade freely like untamed animals.

Their link with the city lies elsewhere. It can be glimpsed in the metallic thread that binds this collection together. The gunmetal lamé, the patchwork embroidered with lurex thread and the passementerie embroidered with jewelled stones echo like their footsteps on the Parisian streets.
