Ashi Studio SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 Couture at Paris Couture Fashion Week

Ashi Studio Spring Summer 2024 Couture collection was sparked by moments of pure emotion inspired by Japanese art and literature, in particular waka, an elemental form of Japanese poetry. Short, concise verses that get right to the point. Strokes of black ink, straight from the heart. Poetry that resonates like sculpture.

Details of Ashi Studio SS24 Couture, Humble materials borrowed from the natural world, like raffia and seashells, intersperse with caviar crystal, tubular beading, gold needlework and dark, matte sequins.

For Ashi Studio SS24 Couture, dramatic silhouettes surprise with unusual, asymmetrical and textured volumes: a peplum swells with black bristles, a rosy beige column gown reveals a full mosaic of tiny shells sprinkled with crystals, and a tiered skirt shimmers softly with black crystal and raffia trim.

This darkly romantic collection in black, white, and gold captures the spareness of words, the silent swirl of ink in water, the sweep of a calligraphy brush, poetry made into Couture. As stark as humble charcoal now compressed, faceted and polished until it gleams, a graphic homage to masculin-féminin, luminous as a diamond set in gold.
