Gerrit Jacob FW24 / Fall Winter 2024 at Berlin Fashion Week
GERRIT JACOB PRESENTS FW24 COLLECTION “MADE IN HEAVEN” DURING INTERVENTION AT BERLIN FASHION WEEK.
Gerrit Jacob presented his latest Fall Winter 2024 Collection, titled “Made in Heaven” during Intervention. This distinctive collection is a homage to the awkward yet transformative stages of adolescence, capturing the essence of teenage identity and the seamless blend of childhood relics with the first symbols of emerging young adulthood.
“Made in Heaven” draws inspiration from the eclectic and often contradictory elements found in a teenager’s bedroom. Each piece in Gerrit Jacob FW24 collection tells a story, embodying the confusion, excitement, and nostalgia of this crucial and transformative period. Gerrit Jacob seamlessly weaves together childhood innocence with the first hints of adult awareness, creating a visually stunning and emotionally resonant collection.
The title “Made in Heaven” pays homage to Jeff Koons and Cicciolina’s 1990s photographic series, reflecting the nostalgic kitsch of supermarket novels. Gerrit Jacob Fall Winter 2024 collection features a diverse range of motifs and inspirations, incorporating visual cues from Rico Scagliola & Michael Meiers’ Neue Menschen book, the unique perspectives of artists Lauren Halsey and Craig Boagey, and the unapologetic rawness of the film “Lords of Chaos” starring Rory Caulking.
