Maximilian Gedra FW24 / Fall Winter 2024 at Berlin Fashion Week, The Berlin fashion label Maximilian Gedra presents its first collection “STALACTICTE” in Berlin.
The Berlin fashion label MAXIMILIAN GEDRA celebrated its eagerly awaited Berlin Fashion Week debut. More than 200 guests were able to admire the 20 avant-garde high fashion looks.
The STALACTITE FW24 collection presents an almost bizarre game of silhouettes, skin-tight latex and voluminous faux fur applications that challenges society’s ideal of beauty. Body shapes are consciously expanded, corners and edges are in the foreground. MAXIMILIAN GEDRA wants to offend and you can see that.
The Maximilian Gedra FW24 show opened with a prickly coat of thorns, a patent leather creation that stands out not only vertically but also horizontally and can be transformed. The model’s body is completely covered in leather – the collar almost encloses the model’s entire face and acts like a ruff. The start is accompanied by dark techno music, which creates a suitable atmosphere. This is followed by a skin-tight black, very robust-looking dress, which envelops the model and stands out particularly to the continuous lace. The dress looks like a hard shell, almost like an armor for defense. Defense against the piercing gaze of society?
MAXIMILIAN GEDRA wants to go where it kicks off with his debut collection. With his gender-fluid designs and diverse cast of models – including TikTok star and model Britney Manson – he challenges the fashion industry to a fight.
The Berlin fashion label, founded in 2023, is breaking away from the fashion industry’s long-outdated standards and is making more than just a statement when it comes to fashion at Berlin Fashion Week. MAXIMILIAN GEDRA is about much more than that: about inclusivity, queerness, the courage to stand up for yourself and developing a positive feeling for your own body.
In addition to the extravagant looks made of patent leather and leather, unique creations made of fabrics with spike-inspired prints were also presented. These were combined with hand-sculpted bags that visually resembled a morning star.
For the Maximilian Gedra Fall Winter 2024 show, the models were outfitted with high heels and boots from the Berlin shoe label Fernando Berlin as well as jewelry from the Taiwanese accessories label ZEIT. The models wore unique headpieces by hairstylist Sohko Gasaka, which perfectly rounded off the concept of the collection.
The inspiration for the collection is the stalactites hanging from the ceiling, whose counterpart is the growing stalagmite. ‘STALACTITE’ aims to connect and balance the devastating gap between feminine and masculine.
The grand finale of the line-up provided a special surprise: an unorthodox bridal look worn by a male model. A symbiosis of shiny lacquer, hard edges and flowing cut. The top impresses with a striking collar that flows into a deep neckline, while the sweeping skirt drapes heavily over the catwalk. The model carries a bridal bouquet in her hand and a dark sun on her nose.
