Enfants Riches Déprimés FW24 / Fall/Winter 2024 at Paris Fashion Week

Enfants Riches Déprimés presented the Fall/Winter 2024 collection on Sunday March 3 in Paris, France, the titled of the collection is THE SUN. DISAPPOINTS ME SO.

Enfants Riches Déprimés, the iconoclastic label helmed by conceptual artist Henri Alexander-Levy, presents its latest collection with its Autumn-Winter 2024 runway show. Staged against a backdrop of an abandoned Parisian parking garage within the historic 8th arrondissement, Enfants Riches Déprimés FW24 collection is a bold and thought-provoking thesis, underscored by themes of baroque flair and punk nostalgia.

The unsettling reality of cultural asphyxiation comes into view as the runway unfolds across the nine floors of the brutalist garage; via twists and turns, the atmosphere is intensified by a misty fog permeating throughout, pierced only by an ethereal green light.

Models meander down the levels of the space, weaving past vintage luxury automobiles, including classic models from Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce. Their silhouettes emerge and disappear, providing the viewer a moment of reflection on the concept of culture and its imposed parameters.

Details of Enfants Riches Déprimés FW24, the dark, industrial backdrop serves as a compelling canvas, for a collection rich and intricate in fabrication and detail.  An ornate and at times opulent sensibility is intertwined with ruffian elements, all crafted in the finest fabrications; Italian wool and cashmere, sable, shearling, nappa, velvet, rich woven silks and knits created with Loro Piana.

The palette of black, oxblood red and dark gray is adorned with hand-strung pearls, old tapestries, and an oil painting, harking back to a bygone era of seedy glamor and debaucherous excess. Finishes are painstakingly made by hand with hints of a historical lens, an Enfants Riches Déprimés signature, Accessories include cowboy boots, a mainstay of the label’s, platforms and kitten heels for women, gold and silver jewelry is crafted in-house in Los Angeles.
