Pays Des Fees Fall/Winter 2024 / FW24 at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo with theme “Circle in Square”

This season’s theme is “Circle in Square.”

We experience the urge to become inorganic matter like plastic during the uncomfortable growth period as we change physically during our adolescent puberty.

I want to express this short transitory time that will remain in our memories forever (that feeling of never getting over that experience) into something tangible.

For Pays Des Fees Fall/Winter 2024 / FW24, the clothing will act like a bandage to nurse that wound left from that experience.

I am also inspired by Kitazono Katsue, a renowned poet born from the Modernist movement, who wrote “Concrete Poetry,” where the poetry is molded into shapes and symbols to the point of words losing their meaning.

I hope to embody and channel the reminders and sharpness from our adolescent times combined with Mr. Kitazono’s inorganic expressions through poetry into my clothing.
