Y/Project FW24, this season, Y/Project unveil and share with you the Fall Winter 2024 collection of Glenn Martens for Y/Project on Lookbook Format.
This is a truly special project for the team and the brand, as the Y/Project Fall Winter 2024 collection – presented as a lookbook – commemorates Glenn’s 10 years as creative director of the brand: friends and family gathered to celebrate his work for Y/Project, modelling for the label while being shot by Arnaud Lajeunie. Some of the people included in the look book are: Charli XCX, Ursina Gysi, Glenn’s father, Haley Wollens, Olivier Zahm, Mia Khalifa, Tyga, Irina Shayk and more.
PROFILE GLENN MARTENS
Originating from Bruges, Belgium, Glenn Martens graduated first in his class from the The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp. In 2008 he was recruited to join the team of Jean Paul Gaultier for the women’s precollection before being appointed creative director of Y/PROJECT in 2013. 2017 proved to be a year of recognition for Glenn Martens who entered the BOF 500 index of people shaping the fashion industry and received the ANDAM Prize for his outstanding work at the creative helm of Y/PROJECT.
In 2018, Martens continued his rise in the ranks of the industry by being selected again to the BOF 500 as well as to the Vogue Forces of Fashion panel in New York and in Antwerp he was awarded the Belgian Fashion Designer of the Year. Pitti Uomo 95 selected Y/PROJECT as Special Menswear Guest to show in January 2019 where Glenn Martens staged an AW19 show at the infamous Basilica Santa Maria Novella.
In 2020, he was awarded the ANDAM Family Fund Prize and launched the label’s first-ever ecological line Evergreen. Convinced by the cultural relevance of Martens’ work, The Metropolitan Museum in New York acquired two looks from the Y/PROJECT archives that same year. In October 2020, he’s appointed Creative Director of Diesel, while continuing his position as creative director of Y/PROJECT.
In January 2022, he presented a haute couture collection as creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier and in October 2022 he served as president of the jury for the Hyeres 2022 festival. In November, he again received the Belgian Fashion Designer of the Year Award.
