Schiaparelli Sneaker Is Born. This Spring Summer 2024, for the first time, Daniel Roseberry has designed a Made in Schiaparelli sneaker that combines his Americanism with Parisian chic. A touch of streetwear combined with the Maison’s timeless codes.
“It’s the fantasy of couture made for the street. This Schiaparelli Sneaker is particularly meaningful to me because it symbolises what I am: an American in Paris. It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigour of French chic”, Daniel Roseberry, Artistic Director of Schiaparelli
This original, comfortable sneaker, which dresses down a sophisticated dress as much as it dresses up an effortless jeans-and-t-shirt look, is a favourite of the modern woman who’s in a hurry but always elegant.
SCHIAPARELLI, A SPORTSWEAR HERITAGE
In 1927, Elsa Schiaparelli launched her brand with a hand-knitted jumper decorated with a trompe-l’œil motif, which was an instant success around the world – American Vogue even described it as a “masterpiece”. She then decided to launch a collection of hand-knitted jumpers, hand-knitted coats and hand-knitted skirts, which she called “Schiaparelli for sports”. For the designer, sportswear meant practical, casual and versatile styles that could be worn for social occasions once accessorized.
Almost a century later, Daniel Roseberry, Artistic Director of Schiaparelli, has no hesitation in revisiting this sportswear heritage with ever more daring and singular creations, of which the sneaker is the latest.
Season after season, Schiaparelli continues to enrich its range of accessories to complete the silhouette of the Schiaparelli woman. After the now cult bags – the Secret, the Anatomy Jewelry bag and, more recently, the Schiap – and a collection of shoes featuring the Maison’s codes, revealed for the Fall-Winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection, the collections now have their sneakers.
