Atsushi Nakashima FW24 / Fall Winter 2024 – 2025 at Milan Fashion, entitled “SOPHISTICATION”

In the Fall Winter 2024 – 2025 / FW24, ATSUSHI NAKASHIMA explores unusual materials and shapes, starting from stainless steel colored by a special process used in kitchens is cut to match the three-dimensional shape of the human body.

The fabric surface is stitched continuously according to mathematically calculated geometric patterns, and by adding padding to the base, and creating unevenness, a three-dimensional effect is created on the surface of the fabric, Geometric silhouettes and innovative materials melt together in a collection that aims to be ethereal, elegant, and that holds on its name.

Atsushi Nakashima graduated from Nagoya Fashion College in 2001 and in 2003 won the 20th Onward Fashion Grand Prix, now known as the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix.

The success brought about by the internationally renowned competition led the designer to become Jean Paul Gaultier’s assistant. In 2009 he was appointed head designer for one of the brand’s second lines; after two years he returned to Tokyo to establish his eponymous brand.
