With the dress code inspired by Author J.G. Ballard’s “The Garden of Time”, The Met Gala 2024’s gowns were enthralled by Oscar De La Renta designs that were unconventional for the heritage brand. Whether it was a nod to the design technique or the woman wearing adorned in the gown, Oscar de la Renta’s Co-Creative Directors, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, found inspiration by the theme’s undertones of legacy, resilience, and renewal.
