Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2024 at Milan Fashion

Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2024 at Milan Fashion presents pre-fall 2024 womenswear and menswear collection.

Lucie and Luke Meier explore the archetypes of womenswear and menswear – the suit, the dress, the glitz, the quotidian – researching the possibilities that arise by fusing the best available technologies and the virtues of couture, in forms and materials.

They present a positive outlook on the future, where traditional craft and industrial techniques complement each other and sensibly adapt to a transitional, technical age. A cultivated elegance – aware and lighthearted – that circumvents traditions and exhorts everyone – them included, to express individuality in all its gradients, uncompromisingly.

In this Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2024 collection, a certain angularity, the leather, the spiky earrings, hyperbolic chains, the dry wools, long coats, and a fluttering dark shade say night, city, attitude, sharp.

Talk about details of Jil Sander Pre-Fall 2024, A contrasting element, the padded, inflated pieces, a knitted sleeve, a white shearling coat, a felt motorcycle jacket, the bonded cotton trenches are always creating aesthetic tension – the union of hard and soft, the space for personal appropriations, the freedom to combine elements at will. Ease and sensuality. Lavish in materials and in shapes, knitwear is again pushed to its highest levels of sophistication.

White, butter, grey – from aluminum to charcoal, brown, navy, and black. The color palette is somber, solid, and urban but sparked by the integrated jewellery and accents of green, pink, red, and violet.

Contrasts and fusions are evident where utilitarian forms are elevated in construction and fabrics.

The diversity and exceptional quality of the materials are always front and center: cottons, silks, English, Italian, and Japanese wools, viscose are all fluid and light. The service to the person, the comfort, is never compromised.

The city is suits. Jackets, with rounder shoulders, with lapels or not, are shaped, but not tapered. Trousers can be lean or pleated and loose. Skirts are cut just below the knees or at ankle-length. Dresses are long or mini.

The collars of shirts become foulards.

The reinvented creepers and a pair of high boot completely wrapped in nappa leather are lavish and strong.

The Mary Janes have shaped cut-outs all-around. Jil Sander Shoes, Chelsea and high boots, in red, brown, and black shiny leather are lean, pointy or square-toed.

Jil Sander Bags are many: from the new Jil Sander signature Cannolo Bag, one studded with brilliant gemstones, to the Vertigo buckets, the pouches, small and enlarged, and the shoppers – one with burgundy and white stripes.
