Oscar De La Renta Pre-Spring 2025 / Resort 2025 At New York Fashion
June 10th, 2024, New York Botanical Garden Bronx, New York, For the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2025 / Resort 2025 / PS25 collection launch, Oscar de la Renta Co-Creative Director’s Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia host their first runway show back since 2020, at the New York Botanical Garden. The experience was a celebration of the brand’s two muses: New York and Nature.
Upon arrival to the New York Botanical Garden, guests were escorted to trams of which took them on a guided tour throughout the exquisite grounds and witness the current exhibition “Wonderland: Curious Nature”. Each tram was accompanied by a Horticulturist who provided insights into the current installations and floral exhibitions, including the fully bloomed rose garden.
The tribute to New York, home of the brand since it was established in 1965, continued as guests were dropped off at the New York Botanical Garden Conservatory for a pre-show reception. Food carts branded in the Oscar de la Renta PS25 collection orchid print included a pizza truck with handmade pizza being crafted in front of guests eyes, Oscar de la Renta-branded hotdog boats, and gelato from Dolce and Gelato.

As guests made their way to their seats around the conservatory pond, filled with blooming flowers and lily pads, the excitement was palpable.
A mix of “This Must be the Place” by Talking Heads began and Candice Swanepoel appeared wearing an ivory fringe fil coupe sleeveless asymmetric blouse with matching wide-leg trouser and bright lapis satin ‘O’ handle handbag.
Talk about details Oscar De La Renta Pre-Spring / Resort 2025, Rosehip, lapis and butter yellow enliven the neutral tones which ground the collection, while drop-shoulder silhouettes and relaxed tailoring elevate daywear with liberated sophistication. Orchid flowers manifest in a multitude of techniques. The hero ballet slipper orchid print introduces the group, making way for hand-threaded guipure and orchid-printed gold metal organza—the newest technique adopted by the brand.
A snakeskin concept, first presented for daywear on a timeless structured trench coat and signature cotton poplin dress, sheds from day to night with scale-emulating embroidery on a sleek metallic gold Chrysler cocktail dress and crystal fractal gown.
Each bronzed model glowed in Rare Beauty shimmery serum and radiant blush, a look titled “Rose Petal Skin” coined in collaboration with Oscar de la Renta’s Creative Directors and lead makeup artist for the show Hung Vanngo. Hair was either effortlessly tousled or slicked back by renowned lead hairstylist Ruben Colon with R&Co Bleu products. Nails were polished by Jin Soon Choi in a sheer metallic rose gold hue from her namesake label.
After the show, and a one last serving of gelato on the way out, guests were escorted back to the exit of the NYBG by trams and assisted in departing by event sponsor Uber.
