Nanushka Pre-Fall 2024 /PF24 collection, influenced by Creative Director Sandra Sandor’s Budapest sports club memories, seamlessly blends organic shapes with nods to 90s minimalism.
For Nanushka’s Pre-Fall 2024 Collection the brand returns to Creative Director Sandra Sandor’s childhood, with a continued interest in nostalgia and exploration of Hungarian heritage.
Sandor’s memories of childhood days spent in Budapest sports clubs serves as the starting point for PF24, blended with natural, organic shapes and inspiration from 90s minimalist aesthetics that give the collection a signature Nanushka look and feel.
Innovative craft techniques are revisited, resulting in new, textured fabrications as well as a continued focus on organic and sculptural forms. A bold leopard print and crinkled satin in aqua and ecru bring texture and colour to the collection, and a new alt-leather material is introduced that becomes distressed and wears in a manner reminiscent of real leather. The continued use of deadstock materials are incorporated as part of our ongoing commitment to circularity.
“Pre-Fall 2024 is centred in around nostalgia, this time turning to the setting of the sports club, and equally around our exploration of new textures and organic forms, using deadstock materials to create new fabrics. We took inspiration from 90s minimalism and aesthetics, as well as the sculptural, rounded shapes that are found in nature. We continued to explore traditionally gendered silhouettes, using boxy, masculine shapes that are rendered modern through cropping and cinching techniques”. Sandra Sandor, Nanushka Creative Director
The visual language of the sports club is expressed in the details of the Nanushka PF24 collection, such as zippers that contrast with luxurious mesh jersey in a seasonal anthracite tone and in leopard print. A sporty Okobor™ jacket – featured both in menswear and womenswear – is made luxurious and warm through the use of re-down padding. Terry knits complimented by zips create a sense of effortless ease, and are designed to be wearable both layered and alone.
A micro-pleat fabric allowed the design team to create rounded, sculptural sleeves, which are then merged with simple jersey garments to create unexpected fabric contrasts. Modularity is once again explored in a jersey and pleat dress that can be unbuttoned to create a sporty cropped sweater. A bomber jacket is padded and rounded to create a ‘blown out’ silhouette.
Nanushka’s Core collection is influenced by 90’s minimalism and shapes. An off-shoulder top appears in both a deastock plum chutney Okobor™ fabric, smocked to create further texture, and in our classic mesh jersey fabrication. Mockneck detailing is elevated through the use of slip satin, consolidating our offering of refined basics.
The design team continued to use innovations in sustainable materials to inform designs for this season. A new alt-leather material was introduced that becomes distressed and wears in a manner reminiscent of real leather, alongside a continued use of Okobor™ alt-leather and regenerated leather options. Deadstock materials are also used throughout the collection, and the design team explored new textures as a means of renewing these fabrications.
Pre-Fall 2024 continues Nanushka’s commitment to exploring nostalgia as a design theme, while equally offering contemporary silhouettes that represent a renewed vision for the season ahead.
