Franck Sorbier FW24 / Fall Winter 2024 Haute Couture at Paris Fashion Week
A cloud is, at the same time, abstract and baroque, captivating and delicate, ephemeral and furious, greedy and heroic, imperial and jubilant, Kafkaesque and lascivious, mystical and noble, oily and psychedelic, quarrelsome and romantic, sensitive and theatrical, utopian and victorious, Wagnerian and xenophile, yin-yang and Zen.
This season, Franck sought the lightness of the creations both literally and figuratively. A new stage, a new direction in my life. “Creation is my life, my innocence, my cocoon, my reverie, my melancholy, my spiritual dimension, my food. So, let’s raise our heads, contemplate the clouds and discover the fascinating immensity of this universe in perpetual renewal.”
Description of Franck Sorbier Fall Winter 2024 / FW24 Haute Couture :
Cumulus, Ecru point d’esprit tulle suit. Draped, pleated jacket, bubbled with ball points on a circle petticoat.
Stratus, Sheath in ecru point d’esprit tulle and black chantilly lace, draped and bubbled.
Pyrocumulus, Dress with large shawl collar draped in white tulle and black chantilly lace, draped bubble skirt.
Altocumulus, Batwing jacket, plunging at the back, in white point d’esprit tulle and double black plumetis tulle over a large black point d’esprit tulle petticoat.
Altostratus, Batwing coat in black boiled wool, embroidered with “cloud” motifs in silver thread held between two layers of black tulle.
Cirrus, Jacket in white point d’esprit tulle and black plumetis tulle, white border and matching petticoat.
Volutus, Cotton satin jacket draped with white point d’esprit tulle and rolled sky blue, gray and black tulle on a black and gray mid-length petticoat.
Nimbostratus, Peacoat down jacket veiled in metallic silk organza and tulle splashed with silver, “clouds” draped in volume in metallic silk organza.
Flocus, Strapless dress in compressed ribbons and short vest in hand-painted jacquard taffeta by Isabelle Tartière-Sorbier, draped in black silk tulle and 18th century point mouche and point d’esprit tulle in black silk (donation of Mr Stéphane Barucchi).
Undulatus, Vest and skirt with hand-painted panels by Isabelle Tartière-Sorbier and draped in a gradient of blues.
Fibratus, Short coat in wool and silk gabardine, hand painted by Isabelle Tartière-Sorbier, highlighted with black stitching and ball points.
Opacus, Bolero and paneled skirt in silk ottoman, hand painted by Isabelle Tartière-Sorbier, veiled with a drape of gray tulle.
Navire de pluie, Overcoat in mosaic of black lace and black guipure by Isabelle-Tartière on ruffled petticoat in black point d’esprit tulle.
Mamma, “Cloud” dress with ruched bustier and hanging petticoat in hand-painted silk organza by Isabelle Tartière-Sorbier.
Fractus, Long frock coat, frayed exterior seams, thin black pants, black turtleneck sweater, bowler hat and umbrella.
