GmbH SS25 / Spring Summer 2025 at Berlin Fashion Week, THE GMBH SPRING 2025 “RESISTANCE THROUGH RITUALS”
Lately, we have often wondered what a return of fascism would look like. Would we recognise it before it’s too late?
Will there be a single event to mark it, or will it slowly be chiselling away at society, with a thousand seemingly unrelated events?
Is it every time we let refugees seeking asylum die at our borders? Does it start with the silencing of individuals with dissenting opinions, cancellations of artistic freedoms and a regression of freedom of speech? Does it start when politicians try to negate long-standing ideas of human rights or international laws? What does the mass arrest of students, or the increased police brutality against protesters in our own city, mark? Does it start or end with the persecution of marginalised people? Will it be obvious, because it looks like past incarnations in its mannerisms? Or will it simply be creeping up on us, all smiling, all respectable and normal?
Living in Germany, as queer children of Muslim immigrants – our community, which intersects with all these experiences are facing intensified persecutions in recent times. In the face of adversity, resistance is a survival strategy. What is resistance?
Resistance is believing in a better world for everyone and fighting for it. Many of those who are part of this resistance, are at the show today, whether in the audience or on the runway or working behind the scenes.
For GmbH SS25 / Spring Summer 2025, The cast of friends and models is dressed in garments intended to protect and be ready for a fight. A cinched-waist tailored jacket is merged with a boxers gown, intricate patchwork tops are paired with micro boxing shorts and sharp toed sneakers. Heroes and heroines, both real and those from our childhood fantasies are here, all as our dream fighters of the resistance.
Resistance Through Rituals is a celebration of both them and of the values GmbH is founded on.

The show features a new sneaker collaboration with Axel Arigato, rendered in silver metallic. Chainmail is modernised into mesh and armoured metal is rendered into cut-out leather panelling. This modern retelling of armour draws on GmbH’s continued interest in exploring the notion of resistance.
