Caro Editions Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Caro Editions charms Copenhagen Fashion Week with debut show. The scene, a courtyard carpark in central Copenhagen behind Dronningegården, the modernist home of Caro Editions. An avenue of leafy elms framing the cobblestone footpath forms a natural runway lit by the sun. A debut show energised by team spirit, captures a shared feeling of joy.
Led by founder Caroline Bille Brahe, Caro Editions launches SS25 during Copenhagen Fashion Week in the only way she knows. Free spirited, daring, determined and grateful. She presents a collection defined by sheer individuality and personal expression, insouciant and confident, charming. The clothes, mostly one-off and handcrafted, carry signature Caro touches – amplified for the occasion. Beads, embroidery, sequins, stones, lots of stones. Checks and stripes and glorious colours. Clowns and leopards and perky garden hats. Silhouettes are structured or fluid. Belted and buttoned or floppy bowed and balloon legged.
“It really expresses our spirit. A lot of the pieces are made right now especially for the show and I loved styling each one in a different way, the casting, making sure the models feel comfortable in them, the music, energy beats so the girls can walk strongly. We’re really serious about this but also want it to be a fun project for everyone,” says Caroline Bille Brahe.
Caro Editions Spring/Summer 2025 is launching Collection 05 is a key marker for Caro and the company set up in 2022. More edited, more luxury, more authentic, more responsible. Much closer to where Bille Brahe wants the company to be, with a design and production set-up that gives her full creative control. She has hand-picked a fine cashmere producer in Italy and is working directly with a regenerative farmer and producer in India, developing the fabrics and bespoke detailing, and having everything in her hands.
“There is a lot to tell about Caro Editions SS25 collection, we have a lot more luxury product and we are closer to where we want to be. I named the company Caro Editions because I wanted it to have more of a limited edition feeling and this collection really has that. Every piece feels special. Right now, I’m inspired by all things sparkly, how something like a rhinestone diamond button, can change an outfit, give it this vintage feeling that I love.”
The debut show is a big step, but the perfect way to show what Caro Editions is all about, she says. “It’s easy to find a reason not to do something but reflecting back this is exactly the right time. It feels very right, natural. For me it’s a good reminder of why we are doing this, the collective spirit. It’s really fun to get such a large group of people together, feeling their energy, I’m really touched.”
Debut show, Everybody has helped us do the show. It’s a big step. It’s easy to find a reason not to do something but reflecting back it is exactly the right time. It feels very right, natural, gives Caro Editions a lot of energy.
For me it’s a good reminder of why we are doing this, the collective energy. I am so grateful to all the people who want to work with us. It’s really fun to get such a large group of people together, feeling their energy, I’m really touched.
It expresses our spirit. I really like mixing and matching, so for me it is a great way of showing what Caro Editions is all about, styling all the pieces in different ways, the casting, the location, the music, energy beats so the girls can walk strongly. We’re really serious about this but also want it to be a fun project for everyone.
A lot of the pieces are made right now, lots of last minute adjustments, showpieces. For instance, I wanted Coco pants that were are bit dressier so we put bows and domes to make them the leg balloon shaped. It transformed them, made them super chic, gave them that perfect little touch that we are good at.
Informed by modelling career
All the preparation reminds me a lot of the life I lived before but in a much lighter, more fun way. I learned a lot from that career. It is important to hand pick each outfit for each model so they feel good in it, the look suits them. On a catwalk you can tell if someone doesn’t feel right. I ask them: ‘do you feel comfortable in the shapes?’ The clothes look so much cooler if the model is comfortable, I want everybody to feel good.
Caro Editions
I feel as if the show and the new collection are true to what Caro Editions has been from the beginning but we’re also getting better. That’s what I hope people will see. Special touches, 85 per cent of the show are one-offs that go up for sale immediately and which wholesalers can’t buy. Our name is Editions, I don’t want to be put in a box, I want to be able to do whatever I want when the inspiration strikes. I’m very impulsive, when I find a special fabric I want to make it straight away. This way of working suits me better than making only a wholesale collection. We want to focus on pop-ups, collaborations, travelling around the world, trunk shows, building communities, developing special relationships.
Caro Style
The women who buy Caro Editions have their own personal style, they don’t need to be a Caro woman, they are their own woman. I don’t believe in the idea of people needing to buy a whole look to be cool. One piece can work fine and last in your wardrobe. I want people to wear Caro with other clothes, maybe a vintage piece, to match their personal style. That is my dream.
When I look around and see people wearing Caro I am really proud of what I’m doing. To me style comes from within. Inspiration is my word, as I grow our world I get inspired by many different things and hopefully people will get inspired by what I do in the same way
Collection 05
There is a lot to tell about this collection, we have a lot more luxury product and we are getting more to where we want to be. We have changed the whole design and production set-up, we are working with small family-owned companies and I have a lot more creative control, being able to choose all the fabrics and have everything in my hands. The quality is really high.
I feel as if the collection has a more limited edition feeling, which is how we started and why I called it Caro Editions. I’m really proud because every piece feels special. Right now, I’m inspired by all things sparkly and how something like a small rhinestone diamond button can change an outfit, give it this vintage feeling that I love.”
