LoveShackFancy Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 at New York Fashion Week entitled Power To The Pretty
LoveShackFancy presented their Spring/Summer 2025 collection ‘Power to the Pretty’ on Tuesday, September 10th. Guests including Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee, Leni Klum, Camille Kostek, Candace Bushnell, Ciara Miller, and Grace Ann Nader were seated front row while Paloma Chesky opened the show singing a rendition of ‘You Don’t Own Me’ while ballerinas Sage Humphries and Kamala Saara danced in the opening looks before the parade of models began.
Power to the pretty. A celebration of optimism and luminosity, LoveShackFancy Spring/Summer 2025 evokes femininity. Its movement and emotion. It’s playful and luxurious. It’s inspired by the woman who dresses for herself—she is as light-hearted as she is refined.
Welcome to La Maison de LoveShackFancy. For LoveShackFancy Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 runway collection, transformed the NYC showroom into the perfect Parisian-inspired salon. Drawing inspiration from Christian Dior’s Parisian atelier, where he hosted his legendary salons, the LoveShackFancy showroom’s bashful pinks, silk moire walls, intricate moldings, crystal chandeliers, and winding florals serve as the backdrop for our modern take on a teatime show.
Opening of LoveShackFancy SS25 with the evocative voice of Paloma Chesky singing You Don’t Own Me, two ballerinas from Sage Humphries of Boston Ballet and Kamala Saara of Dance Theater of Harlem danced in diaphanous, cascading silhouettes. Models ranging from age 6-43 arrive in full force in a confectionery of pastels: lavender lilacs, rose pinks, pale lemons, soft peonies, strawberry shades, rainbow-sprinkled mint, and feathery blues grounded in vanilla creams and classic khaki. Strutting to the sounds of Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin, along with playful female versions of iconic songs such as Cry To Me and Oh, Pretty Woman.
LoveShackFancy SS25, Translucent cascading chiffons, fluttering hems, and LoveShackFancy’s signature ruffles can be found throughout, only this time in restrained, soft, sheer silks that collapse into the body. Endless layers of salon and organza rose petals are brought to life while bias-cut body-skimming frocks dance around a woman’s figure, delicate chantilly lace flutters with every step, teatime length iridescent 3D encrusted pearls and paillettes shimmer, an unstructured oversized blazer finished with lace insets pairs back to a mini and a spiraling gold-sequined hourglass dress is complete with barely-there sequin bows. Midway through, 17-year-old ballerina Jada Bryant from ABT Studio twirled down the runway to Pink Pony Club, followed by a cacophony of poetic pinks.
Befit for the season and reminiscent of the brand’s beginnings, the story culminates with a bridal party celebrating love and generations. Flower girls and a bride waltzed down the runway to the tune of Going To The Chapel; the audience could be seen singing along.
As the bride departed, Lovely Day drifted out of the speakers, sending a surge of energy through the crowd as the models came parading out in unison. The little girls joined the party hand in hand and danced with Rebecca Hessel Cohen, LoveShackFancy’s Founder and Creative Director. And true to LoveShackFancy, the show ended in a joyous celebration—a dance party, always.
From opening note to closing, Marcella Hymowitz choreographed and directed the LoveShackFancy Spring/Summer 2025 show. And like all things LoveShackFancy, Spring is not just beautiful; it’s powerful; it’s liberated. It makes you feel like dancing–like you’re wearing the dream.
