ESCVDO Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 during Milan Fashion Week
Devoted to sustainable design, committed to heritage ESCVDO is a sustainable luxury brand approaching contemporary design through visionary creations, excellence in craftsmanship and a special care for quality. The brand explores in every collection the cultural and natural treasures of Peru through creation and design.
ESCVDO Spring/Summer 2025 takes its inspiration from the path that joins the Andes and the coast, DEL NORTE is a homage to the incredible natural beauty of the sea side, rock formations and dry forests rich in underground currents; and how it all became sacred inspiration and subject of myth for ancient Peruvians.
Through the Pre Spring collection, discovered the route the revered Spondylus shell followed through the Inca Trail, including now isolated areas where the wind have shaped rock formations into landscapes that might seem from out of this world, but are built of pure earth movement. Solid rock in continuous intersection with the sea breeze over centuries, an interconnectedness that reminds us of textile work, essential to ESCVDO and an observable part of every living ecosystem.
A place to highlight is Las Capullanas, seaside rock formations that the locals interpret as symbols of the female leaders that once commanded the north. Nature becomes myth as people have the need to connect with a place, to have human history woven into geography. In the same way, through DEL NORTE, we strive to weave nature into textile. The Tumbes series takes the serene landscape where sunlight, shadow and life interact, and makes it into fabric through our team’s textile research. Meanwhile the Reflejo Dress takes the world of Crochet and Richelieu, the beloved stitch and embroidery used for Marinera costumes and other traditional northern dance dresses.
At ESCVDO knitting knowledge and craftsmanship are key. The studio team leads a network of artisans from different regions, navigating traditional knitting and blending it with more experimental stitching. Some pieces take over 20 days to be handmade, for their complexity and singularity. Capsules like the Espina or the Manglar bring textiles to a different level: aiming to capture in the best possible quality of cotton, the sensations of light refracted in water, or the complexity of shells and other shapes of nature. We are proud to present a collection full of rich moments, made of special in-house-designed threads and unique stitching created at the ESCVDO Studio through observation and exploration of our craft.
ESCVDO DEL NORTE SS25 imagines a summer of celebrating the small pleasures, and the seaside, a place to contemplate different kinds of beauty enriching each other. Once again, touching base with ESCVDOs focus on interconnectedness, which is expressed in our brand’s belief in communal growth and respect of the environment. High quality local fabrics and innovation in knitting are a source of pride for the talented artisanal communities that form ESCVDO network.
