ROCHAS Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 at Paris Fashion Week entitled “Parure Pour Le Sable”.

Surrounded by the social butterflies he loved and who loved him, Marcel Rochas recognised a touch of the unexpected and eccentric as a true mark of their sophistication. He believed in elegance all the time, everywhere, and in the 1940s even dreamed up daring accessories in straw for a day at the beach. Sauntering down the Côte d’Azur in fine suits and safari jackets with shorts, his dandy attitude is suffused through the ROCHAS Spring/Summer 2025 collection, designed by Alessandro Vigilante and unveiled at the Théâtre du Châtelet in the heart of Paris.

Envisioning a romantic exercise in graphic style, the flowing lines of the ROCHAS silhouette are reimagined in a Parisienne homage to sea and sun grounding a deconstructed mid-century wardrobe with light moments of boyish tailoring and casual craft. Details of Rochas SS25, Awash with airy textures, the palette departs from nautical navy and red into coastal shades of sand and rust, turquoise blue, coconut white and sunny yellow. Lightness is paramount, with playful layered combinations of metallic crinkled cottons, dry woven tweed, scribbled daisy lace and finely pleated poplins creating games of transparency and patina throughout. Marcel’s own saharienne inspires tonal brocade jackets, as well as patch pockets worn on woven linen blouses and tropical wool pencil skirts or slung onto monogram ‘R’ waisted belts. Fil coupé striped satin or polka dot tulle nods to the Haute Couture legacy of the House, in kimono sleeve sundresses and flounced ra-ra skirts. Gathered, frothy sleeve shapes and scarf necklines epitomise the collection’s fluid romance, blossoming with watercolour anemone prints or cloudy blocks of pure colour. As bodysuits, knickers and baby tees, fine silk knitwear echoes the athleticism of vintage swimwear, underpinning wide pleated shorts or a draped skirt wrapped with the ease of a beach towel.

The ROCHAS Spring/Summer 2025 accessories collection embodies the essence of coastal craft, with rattan motifs and fringes recreated in woven leather on ruched slingback flats and square toe mules with an ‘R’ embossed wooden heel. Slotted gladiator sandals in vegetal leather rise to the ankle or up the calf and are finished with gilded ‘R’ monogram buckles.
