Campillo Fall/Winter 2025 / FW25 at New York Fashion Week
February 7th, 2025 (NEW YORK, NY) – CAMPILLO presented Fall/Winter 2025 at 180 Maiden Lane in New York City. The collection, titled “Fictions of Reality,” is inspired by the recollection of special memories for designer Patricio Campillo, and by the interplay of the ordinary and surreal in Mexican magic realism. In a time when reality can feel especially jarring and disorienting, this collection’s embrace of the surreal offers a necessary escape—one that reimagines the world through a lens of wonder, symbolism, and possibility. Campillo FW25/ Fall/Winter 2025 is guided by details that evoke joy, beauty, and the allure of alternate realities.
Patricio Campillo’s upbringing played a key role in shaping the details of Campillo FW25/ Fall/Winter 2025 collection, which he brought to life using a process akin to free association. Exemplary are the small coffee flowers used as buttons on many of the pieces, a nod to his childhood spent surrounded by a coffee plantation. This fusion of ordinary elements with those that are extraordinary reflects Latin America’s social, political, and cultural complexities, drawing from a mix of traditions and beliefs to explore social issues through supernatural elements.
Mexican surrealist painter Remedios Varo largely influenced the application of magic realism to clothing, inspiring CAMPILLO to create technically complex looks that blend fantasy with everyday life. This led to experimentation with techniques that achieve exceptional volume, texture, and structure intricacies. By incorporating classic Mexican charro tailoring, CAMPILLO focused on crafting a wider variety of structured silhouettes that play with the boundaries between masculine and feminine.
Footwear and belts were exclusively provided by Portuguese Footwear Association (APICCAPS) and Mariano Shoes.

ABOUT CAMPILLO, Campillo is an independent fashion brand founded in 2017 by Patricio Campillo. The label, a semi-finalist in last year’s LVMH Prize, aims to reshape menswear by blending Mexican heritage with a personal contemporary perspective and sustainable principles.
