ROTATE Fall/Winter 2025 / FW25 at Copenhagen Fashion Week entitled ‘AFTER HOURS’
She walks into the room and instantly captures everyone’s attention. Her plush coat skims the floor whilst it delicately slips off one shoulder, revealing a sleek dress that is pure elegance. She strides with confidence, making an impact on everyone she passes.
ROTATE FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 collection is a celebration of the ROTATE fictional muse, where classic evening glamour meets contemporary culture. Inspired by the opulence found in old fashion editorials, the collection is an immersive experience of luxurious outerwear, elegant dresses, elevated separates, and bold accessories, capturing the essence of the ROTATE’s muse.
About details of ROTATE FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025, the coat forms both the start and the end to this glamourous collection. With both drama and comfort in mind, outerwear is at the forefront, embracing the frosty Scandinavian winter, and encouraging playful layering along with it. Luscious soft faux fur coats in foxy brown, rich burgundy and stark white invite glamour, and warmth, whilst a black supple leather is introduced in a figure-hugging peplum jacket, classic long-line coat and cropped puffer, next to heavy wool coats with cinched waists and extravagant faux fur trims.
Complimenting the outer layers, are a selection of subtly striking garments. Dresses are found throughout in a variety of silhouettes and fabrications, both beloved and new, each evoking a sensory experience. Fabrics are tactile and seasonal; velvet is played with in demure cocktail dresses and tailored sets, knits are found in cosy wool blends, elevated through delicate details: lace up sleeves, built in scarves, ottoman stitching and cable knit designs. Elsewhere, materials are sleek and fluid, with drapey chiffon pieces presented in nougat brown and bold black, accentuated with high necks, balloon sleeves and bowed belts. Silk satin dresses flow like a glacial waterfall, with floor length hems and sweeping bell sleeves, minimal yet extravagant in their form and fabrication. Sequins are essential, yet sophisticated, with the brand’s iconic sequin tassels reiterated in a strapless dress and strong shouldered sleeveless top, as warm orange and creamy brown sequins are crafted into an ombre effect on dresses, and separates.
True to ROTATE’s signature aesthetic, contrast is addressed through powerful suiting iterations. A nod to traditional masculine tailoring is found in check and pinstripe materials, suspender details and strong shoulders, but subverted by inherently feminine touches, from hourglass silhouettes to ballooned sleeves and wide legs, to slim fitting pieces and a ‘v’ waistband designed to caress and accentuate the female form.
Denim interjects the refinement of the collection, balancing the formality with casualness to craft a modern interpretation of Scandinavian glamour. Raw dark denim is fashioned into a cocoon shaped jeans as well as a modish skinny fit. ROTATE’s iconic 3D flower embellishment is introduced in denim, and buttons are utilised unexpectedly as a simple yet impactful detail.
Fabrics, form, and finish carry the collection where prints are sidelined in favour of the former. Colours are warm and wintery, black, burgundy, and deep brown appear next to soft creamy hues, and a touch of fireside reds and oranges. An exception is made to introduce a sprinkling of flirtatious leopard print into the collection, seen in slim fitting pant and a voluptuous dress – a reminder of the versatility and playfulness of the ROTATE woman.
