PAIRI DAEZA Fall/Winter 2025 / FW25 during Milan Fashion Week Entitled “WINTER SOLSTICE”
PAIRI DAEZA FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 is a seamless blend of Persian heritage and contemporary Italian craftsmanship. Designed for the modern, conscious wearer, this collection reimagines urban silhouettes with intricate ethnic details, celebrating tradition through an eco-responsible lens. Each garment carries a deeper purpose, crafted from upcycled Italian deadstock fabrics and brought to life by marginalized artisans in Iran. From Baluch embroidery to hand-knotted rugs by nomadic craftswomen, every detail reflects a story of resilience and artisanry.
Details of PAIRI DAEZA FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025, The patterns and colors of the collection are inspired by winter solstice (‘Yalda’ in Persian), which is the night when the golden Sun (the woman in Persian culture) and the silver Moon (the man in Persian culture) are seen together in the blue sky for the longest time in a year. For centuries Iranians have celebrated this merry event through rituals such as reading poetry, dancing, drinking red wine, eating red fruits and decorating the evergreen cypress tree with red pomegranates.
Zodiac signs, inspired by 13th-century Persian manuscript, are etched by craftsmen from Esfahan into accessories made of brass; or carved into wooden blocks to handprint indoor and outdoor garments, through ancient Persian ‘Ghalamkar’ technique. Mirror crochet embroideries and traditional needlework, recognized by UNESCO as heritage art, are carried out by Baluch and Afghan craftswomen and adorn different parts of velvet and thick cotton garments. Vests, skirts, jackets and outdoor garments are cut in emblematic Persian jacquard, featuring ‘boteh’ motif that is the representation of the cypress tree (symbol of life and eternity in Persian culture).
Shawls are handwoven and socks are handknitted by Gilak craftswomen; tote bags are made of rugs hand-knotted by nomadic women living in north west of Iran; while geometric bags and accessories are made through complex wood marquetry (‘Khatam-kari’ in Persian).
Defining the contours of a new ethical fashion brand without borders, PAIRI DAEZA FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 wardrobe, with its quiet power, sends a message of hope and passion for a new generation of dreamers who care about human stories everywhere in the world.
About the Brand, Behind PAIRI DAEZA stand two Iranian sisters, Yasaman and Nastaran Rezaee, who are looking to change the image of Iran and reclaim the country’s endangered heritage for a new future, through collaboration with small, marginalized communities of artisans living in Iran. The label’s moniker, PAIRI DAEZA, means “walled garden” in ancient Persian. Persian gardens are so exceptional that the term “Pairi Daeza” became a loanword and shaped the concept of godly paradise in many languages, including the European ones. Centered on timeless urban pieces imbued with symbolism, the brand’s wardrobe fuses European fabrics, modern cuts and ancestral Iranian artisanal techniques, lovingly crafted on the wings of diversity, self-expression, freedom, inclusivity and sustainability. Slow processes are at the core of the PAIRI DAEZA universe, developing collections with a mindful approach to the people who make them, as much as to the wearers of the clothes and Mother Earth herself.
