Nina Ricci Fall/Winter 2025 / FW25 at Paris Fashion Week

In a Helmut Newton photograph from 1973, a model perches cross-legged atop a car bonnet wearing a plunging silk blouse, leg-baring skirt and a fur-trimmed coat by Nina Ricci. Behind her, Paris is spotlit seductively by the glowing orb of a street lamp. This image forms the starting point to an Nina Ricci FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 collection which illuminates the new era of the Nina Ricci woman, one which abounds in romantic glamour, insouciance and sexy confidence – and defines creative director Harris Reed’s modern vision for the brand.

A collection best spotlit by the twinkle of midnight stars or the glint of sunrise, Nina Ricci FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 riffs on a soft, seductive fluidity. A shawl-detail faux fur coat in citrine trails with an amethyst velvet ribbon, pavement-sweeping dresses cascade with black beads and sequins, voluminously proportioned tailoring boasts internal corsetry and wispy lingerie-inspired shorts have daring micro hemlines. The dramatic slashed necklines of silk negligees and rippling blouses allude to the wardrobe of Michelle Pfeiffer in 1983’s Scarface and a watercolour zebra print draws inspiration from the 70s wardrobe of Ali McGraw. There’s an elegant spontaneity to peacoats, smoking jackets and capes, thrown on with abandon over pavement-skimming slips and cowl-neck leathers, and taking the Nina Ricci woman from one decadent party to the next.

Nina Ricci FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 interweaves a classic black and white colour palette with rich jewel tones, from peridot to ruby, materialised in sumptuous velvet and silk grosgrain. Reed continues to explore the DNA of the brand, reinterpreting Ricci’s sheer chiffon and signature polka dot in spotted transparencies and delicate lace. The collection also debuts the brand’s first monogramme print, a two tone ‘NR’ motif tesselated across draped day dresses.

The glamorous ease of Ali McGraw 70s style also inspires the accessories in the collection: silk headscarves accented with floral hardware and tasselled velvet ribbons which tie around the neck. There’s a day- to-night elegance to aviator sunglasses with colourful lenses. Expanding Ricci’s footwear category, the collection also debuts an eclectic party shoe and second-skin boot with a sculptural wedge heel. A top handle bag with elongated straps, embellished with beads or in a tactile cowhide print, reimagines a 1996 silhouette from Nina Ricci archive.
