Fetico Autumn/Winter 2025 – 2026 / AW25 at Tokyo Fashion Week entitled Queen of Curves.
The muse for FETICO AW25 / 2025 – 2026 Autumn/Winter Collection is Bettie Page, who rose to fame in the 1950s as a bondage and pin-up model in America and remains a beloved cultural icon to this day. During an era when the image of the ideal housewife was glorified and femininity influenced by Hollywood films was emphasized, Bettie’s bold life choices became the seed of counterculture. For designer Emi Funayama, Bettie has been an icon for many years. “I’ve always been captivated by people who know how to present themselves. Bettie’s charm lies in how sensual yet charming she is. She elevated the radical impression of bondage fashion into something fashionable and established her own unique style, which I greatly admired,” says Funayama.
A major inspiration for this season was the photo book Queen of Curves, shot by Bunny Yeager, who transitioned from being a pin-up model to a photographer. On the cover, Bettie Page is captured in a leopard-print dress, confidently posing alongside two leopards. The leopard print was the first pattern Funayama decided to use this season. A leopard coat she purchased at a London flea market during her student days has sentimental value to her. Inspired by Bettie’s alluring leopard dress and her own personal memories, Funayama decided to create the first original leopard print for FETICO. Another source of inspiration was the haute couture dresses of the 1950s, a golden age of haute couture design with renowned designers like Christian Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga, and Pierre Balmain at the forefront. The elegant silhouettes that highlighted the female form from the tight waist to the flared skirt had a profound influence on Funayama’s creative work. This season, she incorporates a fit-and-flare style as a central theme, blending in classical elements.
In her pursuit of the beauty of form, Funayama reflected on bodily autonomy—the right to make decisions about one’s own body. This idea also embraces the importance of choosing a lifestyle that is true to oneself. “My body belongs to me, and only I can restrict it. Fashion, life choices, and my body should not be decided by others. I wish to live in a society where I can choose freely, based on my own will,” she says.
Fetico AW25 / Autumn/Winter 2025 – 2026 collection interprets the elements of 1950s pin-up culture, bondage fashion, and the graceful haute couture dresses in a contemporary way that reflects FETICO’s essence. It is imbued with deep respect for beauty that allows every woman to freely embrace her individuality, unbound by conventional values.
Details of Fetico AW25 / Autumn/Winter 2025 – 2026, This season’s collection brings together elements of 1950s bondage, pin-up, and haute couture in the signature FETICO style. The color palette consists of monochromes like black, white, and gray, accented by rich tones of burgundy, pink, and khaki, creating a varied and rich visual impact. Influenced by the leopard dress Bettie Page wore in Queen of Curves, the collection also features playful motifs such as retro cherries, roses, and lilies, drawing inspiration from pin-up models’ costumes. Classical fabrics such as herringbone, glen check, and velvet provide a contrast. The core of the collection is defined by bondage-inspired details reminiscent of Bettie. Leather belts embellishing the collars of coats and dresses, narrow belts wrapped around skirts and dresses, and harness-style belts adorning cardigans stand out as motifs of restraint. A denim series made from organic cotton features cropped jackets, corsets, pants, and skirts, all accented with lace-up details that emphasize the graceful line of the body. Glossy jackets, corsets, and pants, inspired by the sheen of patent leather, use a unique black foil coating on fleece fabric produced in Kyoto. This material offers both a glossy sheen and a distinct texture, while being lightweight and comfortable.
FETICO’s signature lingerie details this season take inspiration from the attire of pin-up models. Slip dresses and baby-doll- style blouses are crafted from jacquard fabric, featuring stripe patterns of lace produced in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, paired with powder pink georgette, suggesting a real, everyday wearability. Additionally, small rose ribbon embellishments, seen in vintage lingerie, add accents. Soft tulle and lace are lavishly used in a dramatic long baby-doll dress.
Tailoring this season follows the fit-and-flare silhouette made iconic by 1950s haute couture, with a tight waistline gracefully flaring to the hem. Coats with large cape collars and dress jackets with detachable collars use soft wool fabric spun from bouclé yarn, giving a noble presence. Glen check fabric used in dresses and jackets is woven in a Jacquard loom in Kiryu City, blending cotton in the warp and a mix of acrylic wool, polyester, and polyurethane in the weft, creating a rich, voluminous texture with warmth. The collection also features the first FETICO trench coat, with a two-piece design that cinches at the waist and features an iridescent finish, using a water-repellent agent free of harmful fluorochemicals for enhanced functionality. A two-piece jacket layered with a cropped jacket and tube top uses wool spun yarn and nylon boucle, incorporating Australian Winners wool to create a soft, luxurious look, with kid mohair fur trimming to add elegance. Long dresses with accent belts and buttons at the chest highlight a graceful silhouette, with removable petticoats enhancing the waistline. Leopard and cherry-printed shirred dresses are crafted from nylon tulle with flocking processed in Fukui Prefecture, giving them a velvety sheen. Leopard motif cardigans are made from a blend of alpaca and wool, offering excellent warmth and resistance to pilling and wrinkles, while remaining lightweight and soft.
Accessories, Footwear of Fetico AW25 / Autumn/Winter 2025 – 2026 includes two designs: long boots with delicate belt details and pumps with striking cross straps. The accessory line features luxurious leather goods, including two-way lamb leather long gloves, leather harnesses, and leather ribbon barrettes. Sophisticated accessories also include hats with scarves, tights with garter belt motifs, and freshwater pearl necklaces. Additionally, FETICO’s signature lingerie has been reintroduced, with a cup bra camisole featuring UV-blocking, cooling touch, and quick-dry properties—perfect for completing FETICO’s elegant looks.
