Etudes Studio Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the collection is Études Studio No.27 entitled “Surroundings”.

Etudes Studio takes up residence at the Palais de Tokyo, an environment of living and contemporary art, to present its No.27 SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection. True to its multidisciplinary approach, the Paris-based label led by Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry continues its exploration of clothing as a medium of expression, weaving a subtle dialogue between art and fashion.

Titled Surroundings, Etudes Studio SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection reflects on the figure of the artist and its wardrobe. This time, the guiding thread is Land Art, used as a lens to explore the traces left on both landscape and clothing. Each garment becoming a record of use, gesture, and place. The collection unfolds through a consolidated wardrobe of refined reinterpretations of signature pieces: hooded bombers, working suits, pants with detachable tool belts, flowing shirt, or lightweight overcoat. Études Studio introduces a new proposition that blends urban elegance with outdoor functionality. Volumes expand in harmony with the body’s movement, sometimes skimming the form like a second skin, at other times flowing freely to facilitate motion. Some pieces borrow from workwear traditions—reinforced trousers with ankle cinches, atelier smocks—while others reveal a confident soft tailoring—dual-weight coats and ethereal cuts. The collection is unified by utilitarian accents: exposed zippers, technical pockets, and contrasting topstitching that artfully defines the silhouette.

Fabrics, predominantly organic or recycled, are carefully selected for their versatility and texture: lightweight cotton poplin, open-knit mohair, utilitarian ripstop, sun-washed denim, and soft jersey. Surfaces are deliberately altered—cracks, corrosion, sun-fading—to suggest the marks of past use, whether real or imagined. The color palette draws as much from the artist’s studio—chalk and ochre—as from the natural world, ranging from charcoal-dark tones and zinc-like gray-blues to the deep browns of bark and sequoia, creating an organic, mineral harmony.

Sketched or embroidered messages—Alternatives are Possible, Second Nature, Structure of Feeling—adorn bandanas, scarves, and t-shirts, extending the concept of clothing as a visual grammar and deepening its dialogue with the landscape.

Shape & Sound, In the light-filled Galerie Haute, the staging reveals the organic connections between bodies, materials, and their surroundings. The models follow a spiral path reminiscent of Robert Smithson’s works. François Dufeil’s “musical instrument-sculptures”, crafted from reclaimed materials, inhabit the space. When played by percussionist Amélie Grould, they evoke the physical resonances of Land Art in a fully immersive soundscape.

Artistic Collaboration, At the heart of this season is a collaboration with artist Maia Ruth Lee. Born in Busan and based in Colorado since 2020, Lee works across photography, video, painting, and sculpture. Her practice—shaped by themes of displacement, memory, and language—serves as a form of intimate cartography. Two of her series have been reinterpreted on garments, deepening Études Studio’s ongoing exploration of movement, grounding, and trace.
