Officine Générale Men Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week entitled PARIVIERA
It’s with great pleasure that I welcome you to Rue Jules Chaplain. This street is known above all to Parisians, lovers of art-house cinema. For several years, Officine Générale has also established its headquarters there. Offices and showrooms where I enjoy meeting my fantastic team every day to create, develop, market, and distribute our men’s and women’s collections.
It was on its sidewalk, reflecting on the fashion show while smoking a cigarette, that the name “Pariviera” came to me. I was currently in Paris, happy to be working on the preparations for the new season, and at the same time, I had an irrepressible desire for the seaside, umbrella pines, and the blue horizon… Paris is a wonderful city; I’ve loved it ever since I arrived from Brittany, but it still has one major flaw: its distance from the coast. So, I imagined a Parisian, summery collection, both urban and seaside, that ignores geography.
I wanted ample volumes, lightness, bodies draped in air. We developed a poplin, like parachute fabric, a featherweight that amplifies the feeling of an intangible envelope so characteristic of summer. I also fell for a new cotton, linen, and Tencel blend that adds a more dressy, contrasting touch. There are also nautical details scattered here and there, like nods to my native roots. And a hint of nonchalance that particularly suits outfits for sunny days: beach sandals most of the time, rolled-up trouser hems, shirts and T-shirts with rolled-up sleeves, and, as a seasonal accessory, a cotton scarf tied on the forehead in the style of Keith Richards or Henrik Purienne.
Officine Générale’s women’s line draws on the same inspirations, while offering specific cuts. I love the idea of a woman and a man cultivating their differences, forming a couple without being identical.
Following the presentation last January at Café Le Rouquet, where the atmosphere of real Paris is still palpable, presenting this new collection directly on the streets seemed the logical next step. The street has always been one of my major sources of inspiration. I love observing it in its diversity. And dressing it with chic and modernity, more than ever. The pieces unveiled today were designed to be worn every day. I remain particularly attached to this reality, even though it’s a summer collection, the weather is hot, and I’m talking about the seaside in the heart of Paris…
I wish you a wonderful summer!
Pierre
