Germanier Fall/Winter 2025 Couture at Paris Couture Week

Germanier Fall/Winter 2025 – 2026 / FW25 Couture at Paris Couture Week entitled “Les Joueuses”

For this second couture show closing Haute Couture Week, I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone. Last season, the focus was on presenting the essence of Germanier with elevated finishes and a refined execution. This time, I felt the need to push my own limits.

Les Joueuses” is a collection born from play. I experimented with prints — polka dots, snake, painted leopard, stripes — with bold color combinations and exaggerated volumes. I wanted a collection that felt light-hearted, dynamic, and energetic, without ever losing the refinement that defines couture. It’s playful, but it doesn’t lack depth or precision.

We’re living through heavy times, politically, socially, economically. I believe that my role is to bring light — that’s what drives my work, and this collection is a direct response to that. I wanted joy on the runway.

It all began with my signature beaded weaving technique, which I exploded and translated into fully embroidered looks. From there, Germanier FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 – 2026 Couture collection evolves — balloon dresses, sculptural volumes in raffia made in collaboration with Brazilian artist Gustavo Silvestre, bursts of color and texture that feel unmistakably Germanier. Then comes a shift: a red balloon dress signals a deeper color narrative, still vibrant, still luminous, but slightly more grounded. The third balloon dress — a playful collaboration with Hello Kitty and Kuromi — opens the door to my favorite part of the show.

For once, I decided not to close with volume, but with refinement: upcycled leather looks, previously used for Eurovision, reworked and crystal-stressed to a couture level. The finale gown, made from recycled Japanese paper, was a personal challenge: no color, no texture, just a humble material transformed into something sculptural and pure.

As always, sustainability is at the heart of everything. The balloons used in the collection were rejected due to paint or quality test failures — and now reborn on the runway. Feathers from iconic past designs are given a new life in statement pieces. And for the first time, we introduced a set design — built specifically for this show — that will be entirely upcycled next season into sequins.

Germanier continues to be a beacon for artistry from around the world. While rooted in Paris and Switzerland, this collection celebrates collaborations across borders: Brazil with Gustavo Silvestre, Vietnam with Nguyen Tien Truyen, the Philippines with Marco, and India with Sachin. It’s a global creative dialogue brought to life through couture.

“Les Joueuses” is more than a collection. It’s an invitation to play, to create, to bring joy — even when the world feels dark. Because fashion, at its core, is about light.
