66°North Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Copenhagen Fashion Week

In anticipation of its 100-year milestone in 2026, 66°North invites guests to kick of a year-long celebration with the immersive experience “100 Years of Progress. Still Made for Life” at Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26.

“Our journey over the last hundred years has been marked by innovation, without compromising on the core values built into the company since its inception. This Copenhagen Fashion Week exhibition reflects our unwavering dedication to craftsmanship, durability, and purposeful design, and ofers up guests an insight into the innerworkings of our factories and repair shops” notes Helgi Óskarsson, CEO, 66°North

For 66°North SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026, This exhibition offers a behind-the-scenes look at 66°North’s legacy of craftsmanship. From pattern drafting to finished garments, every stage of production is laid bare. Since 1926, 66°North has operated its own factories – predominantly in Europe, with a dedicated facility in Latvia – working alongside premier fabric innovators, including partners such as GORE-TEX® and Polartec®, to source materials that balance innovation, versatility, and longevity. Each piece is tested by trained mountaineers and outdoor professionals before being created by the expert 66°North design team. The result being outerwear that promises protection against the elements and reliability for the most demanding adventures. Within the exhibition, a wind machine and GORE-TEX weather simulation box contrast Iceland’s notorious weather with hazards used during testing, bringing visitors into the extremes of the brand’s home country.

Visitors at the fashion week installation enter a “room within a room”- an atelier inspired by the brand’s cutting tables and workbenches from their own factory. Here, prototypes, raw materials, and deconstructed garments reveal the inner construction of each 66°North design. Marking a century of exceptional service, 66°North also highlights its repair initiative within their Copenhagen Fashion Week installation. Operated since the brand’s inception, the 66°North repair team from Iceland will be on site in Copenhagen. Guests can observe repairs in progress, appreciating the meticulous care and longevity built into every 66°North garment meaning they can truly be utilised for life.

“Our repair service has been central to our mission since Hans Kristjansson founded the company in Suðureyri, Iceland, in 1926. When your customers’ lives depend on your products, you do everything possible to protect them. That commitment remains just as strong today. We’re also dedicated to responsible material choices- prioritising them wherever possible. But we never compromise on performance. We believe it’s better to create a garment that lasts a decade than one that claims to be a more sustainable fabric but fails in two or three years” comments Bjarney Harðardóttir, CBO, 66°North

By pulling back the curtain on its innerworkings, 66°North brings audiences into its brand ethos – with transparency, craft, and care at its core. Witnessing the meticulous thought behind every design, it creates a deeper connection between the wearer and the garment. This centennial celebration is not just about heritage – it’s a testament to the brands journey of being “Made for Life” and looking forward to the next 100 years.
