Grace Ling Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at New York Fashion Week
Grace Ling’s design aesthetic has often been described as eccentric elegance and intelligent femininity, a balance of sensuality with formal structure. She reimagines classic, sophisticated silhouettes by introducing quirky, avant-garde twists—whether through unusual cuts, sculptural details, or futuristic materials. Her work maintains a refined, sleek quality, yet always with a subtle eccentricity that draws attention without overwhelming the eye.
Grace Ling SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026, Ling unveiled her “Future Relics” collection, which explores the idea of garments as artifacts—objects that are both ancient and futuristic at once. The concept reflects her fascination with the passage of time, suggesting that today’s creations will one day be studied as relics. This narrative serves as the foundation for a collection that bridges tradition and innovation, blending echoes of the past with cutting-edge techniques.
The collection showcases biomorphic charms and structures inspired by Ling’s love of antique shopping and found objects. Sculptural embellishments take the form of combs, keys, padlocks, and knives, while knife sheaths cleverly double as blazer closures. In this way, Ling reintroduces a sense of craftsmanship and detail that recalls the artistry of past eras, while pushing it forward through modern interpretation. Each design merges function with symbolism, creating pieces that feel both personal and timeless.
Fabric innovation plays a central role in “Future Relics.” Materials are engineered to fade from opaque to sheer, producing effects of glitches, burns, and cracks that simultaneously conceal and reveal the body. Torn and broken textures contrast with clean, precise tailoring, capturing the tension between fragility and strength. The resulting silhouette embodies what Ling calls the SS26, GRACE LING Girl: a figure who is at once innocent and fierce, structured yet fluid, a modern relic in her own right.
