Sunnei Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Milan Fashion Week
A performance, a staging that blurs the line between art and fashion, unfolding as an imaginary auction. Once again, SUNNEI subverts the conventional format, displacing it into an entirely different context by partnering with Christie’s, the Fine Art auction-eers—translating the language of fashion into the codes of the auction world.
Nothing is really for sale—yet everything appears to be. In a surreal, theatrical, and deliberately ambiguous atmosphere, the audience is drawn into a believable illusion, where true value matters less than the desire it provokes. It is a hall of mirrors: fiction and reality reflecting one another, the representation and the fashion system overlapping until they are indistinguishable.
The characters bringing the mise-en-scène to life are the very people able to embody SUNNEI at its core—members of its community since the beginning—joined on stage by Cristiano De Lorenzo, Managing Director of Christie’s Italy.
Sunnei SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 is present, not as protagonist, but as part of the architecture of character within the performance. Each character interprets the collection with their own singular identity, bringing it to life through individuality and presence. Together, they dissolve the distance between spectacle and reality, infusing the project with authenticity from within.Fashion is finance, creativity is for sale. More than ever, today’s industry is driven by hidden yet powerful dynamics. This performance is not a direct critique, but a hyperbolic, theatrical metaphor of that mechanism.
The SUNNEI auction is at once artistic disruption and conceptual statement, a visual and communicative event of rare intensity. It is a suspended stage where the contradictions of the system are staged, where the symbolic challenges the concrete, and desire itself is called into question.
