PÉ DE CHUMBO Spring/Summer 2026 during Milan Fashion Week

PÉ DE CHUMBO Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 during Milan Fashion Week entitled “ FEMME ”

PÉ DE CHUMBO SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 represents two opposing sides of a woman: power, strength, courage, sensuality, and fragility. It is a tribute to the many women who have achieved, and continue to achieve, extraordinary things over the years. With intricate lace in strong threads and corset-like accents, with threads that ‘untie’ from the dresses, creating bold, feminine cuts that mark eras, the Femme collection ranges from soft beige to black, red, and hot pink, in different threads and textures that characterize the “making” of PÉ DE CHUMBO.

THE BRAND, Founded in 1995 by the Portuguese fashion designer Alexandra Oliveira, PÉ DE CHUMBO is a women’s clothing brand known for their experimentation and innovative techniques of mixing different fabrics and yarns in a handmade process. Thread is the central theme in PÉ DE CHUMBO’s collections. The creative process focuses on experimentation and originates from materials and threads that are then designed and made into fabric. After the thread is select and the fabric is created, the garment takes shape with the fitting process. Some of the thread used in the collections comes from waste sourced in surrounding factories of the designer’s hometown of Guimarães–one of the largest textile industry hubs in Portugal. This not only reduces textile waste, but also promotes a more circular and sustainable approach to fashion.

Every collection is handcrafted locally, piece by piece, thread by thread. The designer favours textures and materials over silhouettes, allowing the thread to design the garments and give them their shape. Each fabric is created in an almost artisanal quality that is truly unique and exclusive to the brand.

Alexandra Oliveira was born in Guimarães, where she currently lives and works. She studied Fashion Design at CITEX in Porto and completed several training courses in the textile sector. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions of contemporary art with textile works. From 2000 to 2012, she taught Fashion Design at the Cenatex School and also at the Porto Fashion School. Since 1995, she has been creating her own collection under the brand “PÉ DE CHUMBO”. She designs and produces 90% of the fabrics used in her collections through an almost artisanal and exclusive process she developed herself. Fashion Week: 2016–2025 – Portugal Fashion, Portugal. / 2016–2017 – AltaRoma Fashion Week, Rome, Italy. / 2019 – Mozambique Fashion Week, invited by Portugal Fashion. Since 2007, she has been participating in international fashion fairs with PÉ DE CHUMBO, gaining new clients and affirming her distinctive style, both in design and in textile/knitwear production, thanks to this unique and handcrafted process.
